Civic SI quicker than our Tsx?
So i have considered adding a civic si to our stable. You tube and other venues make The Civic SI out to be a fast, affordable sports car. My question is this...it cant be any quicker than our tsx's can it.....it is the same exact engine? What am i missing here....i am assuming the SI is just much lighter?

I was going to get the SI before I decided on the TSX. The problem for me and a lot of people out there is how its nothing like its past generation of the SI. Feels like a cheaper design. I mean, they dont even have suede seats! The only thing I liked about it was the drivetrain but the rest of the car felt cheap unlike the past generation 4-door SI.
BTW, Honda announced that they will be doing an early redesign/facelift due to the bad reviews.
Sorry for the rant but this car might depreciate quicker then you would think

It will be faster. I dont know exactly why, perhaps less transmission inefficiency's, but i am almost certain it will be faster

I dont really know the speed differences between the Civic SI and our TSXes, but I dont feel the TSX is a fast car. Its adequate, but after driving my wife's 2011 Maxima with Sport package, its not even in the same league. Of course thats a V6 and the CVT just keeps pulling. I drive her car if I need performance.

In addition to being lighter, the Si has the summer tires option. That's where the hp meets the pavement and could also give the Si an edge over the TSX.
Both have 201 hp, but the TSX reaches peak torque earlier at 4300 rpm. The Si hits it at 4400 rpm.
Both are fun "sporty" cars. The TSX, with double wishbones in the front, has a better suspension than the Si's McPhearson Struts.
Civic Si can be considered comparatively raw, but more fun, while the TSX is more refined.

Based on final drive ratios above, TSX will be faster (higher speed at same RPM) and Civic will be quicker (lighter and shorter gearing). Pick based on needs and price, both are slow FWD cars lol.

Honestly, unless you have track days, the 0-60 times, suspension, and anything separating them are negligible. 0.6 seconds is tiny unless you think street racing on the highway determines who's faster. Both cars have sufficient power for everyday driving and neither are considered fast.

Si stock is quicker...is this even a question.
TSX might take it from the initial jump due to more torque and low band, but past 7rpm SI starts to pull..
Not to mention about 400 pounds lighter.
