Child Booster Seats

Child Booster Seats
My current booster is about 1" too wide and hits the seat buckle, and when my son tries to push the buckle into the latch, it goes at an angle the latch gets pushed down into the seat. I have to get in there and really mess with it every time he sits in the car. Very frustrating.
Anyone have any good experiences with a particular child booster seat?

I used the recaro until my kids got too big.
My daughter who is older but still uses a booster has no problem.
My son who is in pre K, has gotten into the routine, basically, scoot the seat over, sit down, buckle, then kind of "scooch" back over where it's comfortable.
I am not sure of a booster that was really designed to go in our back seat.... However my wife's Forester isn't too much better. Element on the other hand, was the boss.

funny that this thread got posted because this week i bought a booster seat and expereince the same issue...
the middle buckle works perfect but doesnt snap in since its made for the middle seat...
I have to move the car seat closer to the door to buckle the belt in, which is pretty annoying....
any possible fixes?

There are booster seats and then there are booster seats.
I would suggest going to a store that has multiple types of booster seats and trying them out in the car (without your kid). Then, once you've picked out a couple that fit well, bring your child along and try out your selections to make sure that they're comfortable.
You don't want to bring your child on the first trip because they'll get bored and may select the wrong seat just to get it over with or because it looks cute.

I have Graco boosters and just bought a seat belt extender. Do a search for those terms and you'll see the previous discussions we've had. Basically, it "extends" the buckle out beyond the seat base and allows easier access. Obviously, make sure the extender is secure as sometimes the kids forget and unbuckle the extender. Or your kid has to do what Optimusaccord described, which is what we did until I bought the extender.

I had the same problem in my 2011 TSX, and ordered an extender online. Actually three, as the first two didn't fit the Acura buckle, despite being advertised as such.
I would be cautious and confirm these extenders meet the same impact and strength standards as regular belt latches. They seemed flimsy to me.
Never used it as by the time the company sent me the right extender, my kid moved to a booster.
