BG Products&Services worth it to get done?
I drive a 2010 Acura TSX i4 with ~38,000mi my dad just came and told me he'd like to get this list of services performed on my TSX because he thinks it is going to help the car run better/last longer.
He payed about $950 for the following and it would probably be cheaper on my car but still expensive he drives a truck, I'm wondering if this is worth it it seems more geared towards American cars?
Here is what he got done:
Power steering flush, add new conditioner and fluid
De-carb upper engine intake
De- carb fuel intake
Fuel injector cleaning
Clean throttle body
Brake fluid flush
Clean master cylinder
Add new brake fluid & additives
Cooling system flush & clean
New fluid conditioner and sealer
Rear differential flush & new fluid
Transmission flush new fluid and additives

Is this worth it?
At what mileage do you normally perform these kinds of services?

I'd do the trans flush with oem fluid and brake fluid flush. I dont know about the coolant though. Some coolant can last longer than others. I think your dad had the wallet flush done. The service advisor received a spiff from BG worth at least $5-$10 per flush. For that price, they should throw in the blinker fluid change and air flushed out of the tires and replaced with fresh air. Probably a good idea to change the reverse trans fluid too while youre at it.

brake fluid, coolant, and rear diff @ only that amount of miles is unnecessary.
your main and only concern should be
transmission fluid drain and fill.
injector cleaning is a big waste of money imo especially if you have the mechanics manually clean the injector spray (doesnt it cost like 80 bucks or something, its a scam). You can just buy those 20 dollar bottles @ pepboys if you really want to clean it. but if you're using premium pump you dont need it.

Correct. Your dad got the wallet flush.
Your owner's manual will tell you what services are required when. Brake fluid is time based and all other fluids are mileage based. Honda advises against using additives and will refuse warranty service on failures if additives are present.
Following the manufacturer's requirements will give you the best longevity.

it's a car-drive it
Sounds like a major ríp-off. I have followed the maintenance minder (oil life) Since my car was new. The brake fluid was changed at 3 yrs per the owner's manual. The power steering fluid has not been changed as it is not contaminated. I have all service done by acura/honda dealers. Had the coolant and spark plugs changed at 100k+ miles when the appropriate code showed up. Suggestion-read the owners manual which tells you about the codes on service.

I am in agreement with everyone here. Not to say the flushes on your dad's truck were completely unnecessary. However, $950 for literally a couple hours of work is a major rip.

BG44K is one of the few injector cleaners (aside from Techron) that actually works and I pour it into my gas tank about 1k miles before I change the oil - so every 7k miles or so.
