B1/B2 (B12) Service needed lease ending soon. What should I do?
Hey all,
Just got an alert for B12 service due soon. My lease is up in May 2015. Seems pointless to spend $250 on an oil change, tire rotation and air filters.
I am thinking of just going with an oil change and riding out the rest for the remainder of my lease.
What do you guys suggest?

Just get the oil change. $250 is a complete rip off. Air filters cost less than $40 if you buy online and can replace them yourself. Oil change at a Honda dealer costs $30 and Honda uses the same oil/filter that an Acura dealer would use. Tire rotation I have never had done on my car (40k miles).

I had a 45K mile Lexus lease. Dealer told me to turn it in before the service. So I turned it in at 44,998 and didn't do the service.
The lexus I switched with that, I drove the next one 28K miles. I did the first free service (5k and 10K) and NEVER did a service after that. No oil change from 10 to 28k. Nothing. Dealer said nothing at turn in.
Leased cars are the best, if you can write off the expense. God help the people that get my left over lease, since I abuse them worse than hookers at the Bunny Ranch.
I never leased an Acura, so have no clue how Acura Financial works. BMW (which includes service) and Lexus are super forgiving, granted you re-lease from them.

This thread is a prime example of why I NEVER buy used.

For a car I can't write off a lease, I def buy used. My TSX wagon is a CPO. When I buy used, I make sure its not a lease return, and I make sure all maintenance is document. If no documented maintenance, I never buy it.
Worst used cars these days are the BMW lease return with the "Free maintenance." Even with a BMW CPO, talk about some neglected cars.
