Acura TSX Key Replacement DIY
Hey guys,
Just bought a used 2009 TSX a couple weeks ago and have been lurking the forums. Finally decided to sign up.
Well my TSX came with two keys and the primary key was really worn. My local dealership wanted $240 for a replacement key, you've got to be kidding me.
So I bought an Ebay key as a replacement and searched on here and other forums and could not find an answer to replacing the key. Most people would buy a replacement key and take it to the dealership to cut the key and reprogram it.
I was able to transfer the internals of the stock key over to the ebay key. It works fine with no issues. So i figured I would make a video and post it here. This method requires NO reprogramming or cutting.
Costs: $30 New ACURA ebay key
Time: Approximately 10-15 minutes
Tools: Small flat head screwdriver & small Phillips screw driver
I posted the video on youtube but can also post up instructions here if ya'll need it.

Great video and instructions.
To be clear for the other folks around here, the KEY FOB is being replaced and the key itself (along with the built-in chip) is re-used.
The key itself cutting and its chip programming to the car's ECU, which cannot be DIY.

Thanks guys!
I honestly hate all key fobs lol. They get worn then get annoying.
Some day we will all have biometric ignition starting based on a retina scan, oh yeah, yeah.
