considering one of these for my next car. I currently drive an 8th Gen accord and want to get into something a little nicer.

2015 TLX looks pretty appealing and could snag one for a good price, but the 2015's I heard have transmission problems with the 8 and 9 speed autos. So id probably need to get a 2016 or 2017 to play it safe. (which would be a good chunk more money over a 2nd gen TSX) Any input would be appreciated or if you'd recommend any other make / models.

Buy 2017 or facelift 2018 and you will not have problems with transmission

I'd base it on if you want low 200's or high 200s HP. And newer fancy tech stuff like built-in Carplay, backup cam, trunk bouncing back up if you dropped your keys in it, etc.
