2G TSX-Tech vs. 3G TL Nav
Hey guys I have had my 3G TL for almost 3 years now. I do love the car a lot, but I have been getting the new car itch lately. I do not like the way the 4G TL looks at all. I do wanna stay with Acura because I do love their products. I just wanted your guys expert opinion on the 2G TSX vs 3G TL. From what I have read from the specs, I really don't lose any interior room, I don' think. I do not care about the power at all. So the 4 cylinder is fine with me, unless a 6 cylinder is easily available. I am definitely getting one with navigation, I absolutely love my TL with the nav. I owe less than what my TL is worth so I will probably sell it and use the $$ for a down payment. So I would be basically trading up for a new TSX, no money down, and keep the same payment if I buy pre-owned. What do you guys think?? I think it sounds good, but I would like to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks guys

Don't do it, keep your TL.
I mean MAYBE if you were going to get a new car, but trading your car for a used TSX totally not worth it.
Our TSX's have too many quirks and bad designing the 3G TL was Acuras prime. I kick myself every day for not getting the TL.
Pay your car off and enjoy a better acura with NO payments!!

Keep the 3G TL. If a 3G TL compared to the 2G TSX. I would say the 3G TL would be better. Better choice in terms of a car, but it depends what kind of person you are. For you the best choice keep it, but for me I would go for the 2G, because I have a TSX, and I just love smaller cars. Compact or sub-compact for the win!

The TSX I am looking at has 20,000 miles on it. Am I wrong with the sizes that I looked up?? Is the TL larger on the inside than the new TSX?? From what I read the biggest difference was 1 inch of legroom in the front.
Rev Run, what quirks and bad designing are you referencing?? I know a couple of the 3G TL I could name off that really annoy me. I would love to hear what these design flaws are, thanks.

I'm gonna reply to your second comment even though its not for me. I personally like the 3G TL design over the 4G TL design. I didn't think the 3G TL design was bad at all. I only thought it was a little too big for me. Like I said earlier, I'm a person that like to drive compact to sub-compact cars. I wouldn't mind driving a SUV when I'm older though.

Quirks:
Creaking rear upper deck weld.
Sticking drivers door handle.
Overpowering amp blowing speakers.
That's just to name a few.
I also had a peeling dashboard.
Once again my opinion... keep the TL.

Not sure if this will work or not, but here is the link. You tell me what you see HondaOnWorks

Dont get me wrong, I love my TL. I just figured if I could get a newer car, basically the same one, and keep the same payment I would take it. Like I said before, the link above shows the 2006 TL and the 2009 TSX almost exactly the same on the inside.

I mean if you want a new car, go for it. I always say, if you want it and it makes you happy, get it. Happiness is the most important thing to one-self.
The 2G TSX does have a higher MPG, but you will lose the V6. The 2G TSX will make a good daily driver it will have the features and room you need for your daily needs. Like me, I have a 2008 TSX as a daily driver for school and back. While my Gas Guzzler M3, which I love very much is for the weekend. I do have a suggestion though. If you get the 2G TSX, 6 speed! =) The TSX just feels like a different animal with a 6 speed manual.

i love the 3g tl, (but i love the tl-s more hehe)
anywas, first off. problems..honestly i dont rlei have mcuh. but i dont have the navi, some ppl with navi has constant speakers blown problem. oh, and theres a glare on the screen sometimes.
i like the tl navi beacuse its touch screen, so if u want the new tsx u might needa get used to buttons and knobs.
oh, and power. but u mentioned it doesnt bug u much, so i guess tahts fine![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
and well, other "problems", the dash is a bit cheap compared to the TL (thats what many said, i never sat in a TL before but my 2008 crv has better dash than my tsx). and the paint is kinda soft. when u put the car in reverse only left mirror tilts down (in the TL or tl-s i beleive both mirrors tilt down?)
some people complaiend about the weather stripe on the top of the car peeling off, rear shelf rattles, engine knocking, etc. all of these problems i have never encountered.
front passenger door for me is difficult to open sometimes (difficult as in, when i try to pull it once, it seems like its lock (but its not) and i pull it again then it opens)
otherwise..its a pretty good car. if i can choose all over again would i choose tsx over tl? tough choice. i like the interior feel of the tsx, the speedometer is awesome. like it much better than TL's. but navi i like the TL's. power i like TL's. styling TL's (subjectiev). if it was between the TL-s and tsx, i'd choose the TL-s in a heart beat. but now, i think i'd probably still stick with the TL.
good luck with ur decision, best thing is probably test drive

Hmmm, I didn't know the 2G TSX was that much closer to the 3G TL. I knew the 2G TSX got bigger, but I didn't know by that much to be close enough to the 3G TL.

2G TSX looks bigger but it is not much bigger than 1G TSX.
It has 185.6 inch length vs 183.4 for 1G TSX.
Offcourse it is wider but it is due added safety features.

The Tech package does. Also, there is another thread running with a lot of comparisons between the 2G TSX and 3G TL.
