I have the D7000.
Even tho the D7000 is a little bit better than the D90, Simon's pics come out a lot better than mine.
He has more skill and photo editing experience.
With that being said, have you shot before?
the D7000 being my first DSLR, I wanted a midrange camera that I could grow into.
the lower range D3000-D5000's, I out grew, quickly.
Not much difference between the D600 and D7000....
higher resolution at 24 mega pixels, but thats about it.

I have the D7000.
Even tho the D7000 is a little bit better than the D90, Simon's pics come out a lot better than mine.
He has more skill and photo editing experience.
With that being said, have you shot before?
the D7000 being my first DSLR, I wanted a midrange camera that I could grow into.

And the MAIN difference between the D600 and the D7000 is that the D7000 is DX format while the D600 is FX format. Bigger sensor.

Haha but you didn't go from a full body like the D70 down to a camera like the D5000, it sucks even worse 
God i really do miss the 18-200mm though...
And i have like 4 or 5 lenses that i couldn't use with the D5000 because no autofocus LOL.
It's hard splitting my money between cars, photography, and other things....i chose expensive hobbies
And yes, yes i do every once in a while haha. trying to make it down there this summer for a weekend

LOL The D800 would be IDEAL, but the fact that it's so popular that the factory can't even keep up with it means really expensive used prices hahahah.
D300S o: such a nice camera.
My cousin actually upgraded from the D90 to the D7000. And now he wants the D600 LOL.
D300S can be had for the same price used as the D7000 used tho.

D300s used is less than $1.3k : DDD I found a pretty sweet deal locally so I might just hit it up... Didnt wanna go for a D7k for a few reasons though, but mainly due to the new battery LOL

1. The battery. I already have a spare ENEL3e so I wanna keep using it LOL The new battery is also lower in mAh which means less shooting time. Prices on the new ones are around $50-$60 so fuck that LOL The used D300's I'm looking at come with either 1 or 2 extra Nikon batteries, no china shit so it's a great deal for me.
2.Ergonomics. D300s is alot beefier than the d7k which I like(no gay jokes about beef or meat or some shit pl0x LMFAO) My fingers can actually fit on the body and not run off the bottom like it does on my D90 and the D7k. The D300s is also alot wider which accumulates a larger top display which shows ALOT more info than the medium sized ones. Overall it just feels alot better than the D7k. Plus no stupid dial thingy lol just straight up S P A M modes.
3. FPS rate. 8fps is an overkill but I like having it LOL
4. Convenience of controls. D300s has those extra dials and switches for metering mode and such BAM right there while on the D7k you have to fiddle with the menu system to change which I find pretty ehh on my D90 as well after using my D2h.
5.Memory storage. Not really much of a concert but I do like CF cards better than SD just for the fact that they're alot better built. Even though the D300s does have dual slots(CF and SD) I will be using both and not just one. D7k has dual SD which is nice but I have CF cards lying around which will increase the amount of storage I have.
Might be a few more little things but that's pretty much it lol
Anywho, finished my steadycam today, just needa dip it, but sadly I cant get it balanced for shit LOL I'm pretty sure it's because my camera setup is too dam heavy XD Looks nice but non functional as of now
Been seeing alot of 2nd gen TSX's around Houston lately as well. Saw nearly 10 on the road on sunday I think : DDD Also seen this Grigio V6 in my area a few times as well lol

LOL yeah I see. I was confused because everywhere i looked, they said D7000>D300S. But you make some valid points, and a lot of those are personal opinions and i can respect that. Especially the battery thing, LOL. I hate how nikon can't just use the same battery for all their cameras...
And yeah, one thing i miss about my D70 is the use of Compact Flash. Idk why, but i feel they're more stable. AND DID YOU KNOW OUR TSX CAN READ CF CARDS? hahah if you have tech!

In the trunk, there's the navigation box thingy, and supposedly, it can fit a CF card. I never got to try it cuz all my CF cards dissapeared with my D70. Go try it and tell me what happens! hahaha
