2011 Wagon Brake Noise
Hi all,
My 2011 TSX has recently been making a high pitched squeal when applying light pressure to slow down at an intersection. I know there was a TSB for this on earlier models, but it looks like 2011 does not apply. Does anyone out there have brake noise with later models? If so, what has helped you? Dealer has inspected my brakes and finds no issues with pads or rotors.

Could be anything from something lodged inbetween the pad/rotor to the tech at the dealership not knowing what they are talking about to cheap pads/rotors.
This seems more like the pad indicators making noise to me.
If you are DIY handy, take the brakes apart and do a visual yourself. While they are apart, re-lube all the parts and see if that eliminates the noise.

Thanks! Dealer gave me inch measures for all four pads, so I think they looked at something. I am not at all DIY handy, so just trying to get some ideas before I have to take it in again.

Has the car sat for awhile or has it been wet/misty lately? The rotors like to develop surface rust with the tiniest amout of moisture .. but that gets worn off pretty quickly after a few stops.

More than likely something is worn out. I had the same issue on my 2009, and I experienced shuddering while stopping at highway speeds. Took the rotor off to inspect it and sure enough the inside face was chewed up. Replaced both pads and rotors and everything is quiet and smooth, going three months strong.

I'll guess that to be a measurement in mm. Because 5-6 miles of brake pad thickness would be another problem altogether.
So you had approx 1/4" of pad left. It *might* be your squeak indicators. 5mm may have been the fattest part of the pad. If one section or the inside pad was lower, the indicators will come in contact with the rotor. I believe the indicators will squeal at 3mm.
