2011 TSX Lease Transfer
Anyone have any experiene with a lease transfer. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place but I figured my fellow tsx'ers might have some insight and/or interest.
So I got a great new job offer that is taking me out to San Francisco where keeping my beautiful 2011 GLM TSX non-tech is not necessary. As much as I love it and would love to keep it, it would hardly get driven and deserves a better home then i'll be able to provide out there.
I got an awesome deal when I got it back in February, now I'm looking for the right person to pass my deal on to. Ideally someone close to me and the car in the Atlanta area. Know anyone?
Payments are $339 per month. Nothing down. No deposits. All you or someone needs to do is pass Acura Financial's credit check and take over payments.
28 months left on the lease. Over 1000 miles per month allowance. 6300 miles on my baby now and you have 36,000 total allowed.
Graphite Luster exterior. Ebony interior.
I might end up keeping it and taking it to California, but if it can find the right home, that would be great. This really is a great deal so if it would make sense for you or anyone you know, let me know.
Or feel free to ask any questions, etc.

Allow me to welcome you to the Bay Area. SF is awesome, you're gonna love it. Have you tried swapalease.com? There are some other sites out there for lease swapping, but this one is probably the most popular one. Good luck, and congratulations.

Thanks. Next step is to probably check out the lease swapping websites. I've talked to Acura Financial and they said the transfer is relatively easy - just some paperwork and the new leasee needs to pass their credit check.
I'm really looking forward to moving to the Bay. Really only downside is the prospect of giving up my TSX. I'm deciding between keeping the car, living outside the city and commuting to my office downtown, or going car-less and living in the city.

I did leasetrader in the past and was successful at leasing out the remainder of my '06 330i, albeit at a slight loss.
At the end of the day, it's the way to go though. Much better option than buying out the lease and trying to sell it, which is what I did w/ my '09 TSX. I definitely would not recommend going that route...

As a next-to-last resort, an Acura dealer may be interested in buying you out of the lease so it can resell the vehicle as a CPO. I know Oakland Acura has done this for people in your situation.
If you work in downtown SF, and want to live outside the city, make sure you are close to a BART station or trans-bay express bus service. Or a casual carpool pick-up point. Makes a huge difference in commuting.

For anyone wondering, I actually ended up selling my less than 8 months old 2011 tsx right back to the Acura. Even though I was leasing and only 8 months in, I was able to get out for minimal out of pocket costs. Apparently there is still huge demand for like-new tsx's and I was in a good position.
I'm chalking the minimal out of pockets costs to being like the down payment I never made in the first place. San Francisco here I come - with no car payment to worry about!
My 2011 graphite luster tsx will definitely be missed. We'll see what the 2014 model year has in store to see if i'll end up back in an Ac or jump ship to Audi.
Cheers!
