2011 infiniti G25 vs 2011 Tsx

Infiniti is going to lunch G25 sedan in this fall. A starting price of $30,950. for me it is very tempting. I think is going to become biggest competition of TSX. How dose everyone feel about this? Is anyone thinking about to switch to G25?

here is a link.

I totally agree with you. That is major reason i am thinking about to switch it. I have a 2009 tsx/tech. I experienced all kinds of first year model problems. maybe wait for late 2012 model.

i dont think the interior is gonna be as nice as our tsx its just a mini g37 sedan imo with a bunch of cheap plastics like the g's.

The G37 was on my radar when searching for a car. I wish it came in a i4. Looks like the G25 is V6 as well. I cant wait to see the rest of the spec and interior.

Agreed... Sounds like it'll be a stripped out version of the G37 and I still hate the interior of that car.

But the specs do sound nice. Oddly tempting. Wait and see. I just want to see how bad Acura screwed us over by updating the TSX already when the '11 rolls out

TSX > G25 (which looks just like a G37).

More research needed for sure, but generally you need to avoid first year models.

I was waiting for someone to bring this up. I don't see the reason behind a 2.5l v6.

Efficiency. Smoother response. Less torque. Just like the Lexus IS250. Not a bad ride. Drove one on two occasions. It's like a really awesome four cylinder.

I find the G25 to be really tempting, actually, especially at the $30,000 price point. If you wait until the year end discounts they might be selling in the $27,000 range and that would be a pretty attractive deal especially when compared with the 2G TSX.

Do we know fuel economy numbers on the G25?

The new G is far from cheap plastic. Actually makes the TSX/TL feel very cheap when you sit in it. They redid it for 2010 and it is really nice. I am very tempted to buy one myself.

Still go with the TSX. The G25 is gonna be a G37 without the power. Same everything, and same cheap plastic.

To make the point even stronger the G25 according to insideline its gonna make only 218HP, which isn't enough to pull a mid-size car at a good speed. Also considering the Infiniti G25 is still gonna weigh a lot. Like the higher performing G37 the G25 might just weigh slightly less due to engine size difference but still heavy. With that 218HP pulling a mid-size car I doubt that is even enough performance to beat the IS250 let alone our TSX.

I'm guessing its gonna be....
G25, TSX, 328i, C300, A4, IS250 together.
And
G35, TSX V6, 335i, C350, IS350, maybe A4 quattro? together.

My point is no one is gonna buy the Infiniti G25, probably. If the competition is that G25, TSX, 328i, C300, A4, IS250. The G25 would be the last choice on peoples mind. People buy the G because of the performance #s. Of course they can always buy the 335i, which is also in the G's class and faster than the G, but that one cost more. So people settle with cheaper but fast, which is the G. So a G25 would be useless because it will be slower than the G25, TSX, 328i, C300, A4, IS250 competition. Again 218HP, and assuming TQ is lower than the HP since its just an N/A V6 engine pushing a mid-size sedan = fail. We probably looking at high 8 seconds or 9 seconds 0-60 and high 16s quarter mile. And a V6 making 218HP is pathetic. The S2K engine makes the G25 engine look weak. S2K get more HP from small inline4 than the G25. Funny.

Daddy's little girl who just graduated from high school/college who's getting a brand new car as a gift isn't going to care about all those numbers. Daddy don't want to spend on a G37 and now he can get a G25 and make princess happy. That's the target market.

Totally Agree. In fact as much as I love the TSX and it's handling bliss look at the target market for it. I really do not fit it being a mid to late 20s male. If I was the main audience Acura was shooting for, they sure wouldn't make so many with automatics.

Although there is one thing the Infiniti would have the TSX beat in, RWD. I know some don't think its an important delineation, or for that fact even a better one. As I see with the FF configuration a lot of weight is up front and it asks the front wheels to just do too much. To each their own, but I will be sticking with my 04 TSX.

I think that's good news. Give people more options.

I like the fact it's a small displacement V6 and comes with a 7 Speed Auto tranny as standard equipment. Acura only recently introduced a 6 speed auto on ZDX and MDX, may have to wait till 2013 before they upgrade that to the rest of their lineup and drop the 5AT altogether.

I know the current G model interior was vastly improved for the 2007 model year, so the G25 will hopefully improved upon that.

For a RWD sedan, I am a bit disappointed that a 6MT model is not offered like the IS250, but considering their targeted market, not surprised at all.

I got my TSX V6 tech for around $33K before tax and fees. If a fully loaded G25 is around that much...then I'm going for the TSX V6.

True, that Acura needs the new 6speed automatic on the TSX. But I also see it as it doesn't matter. The TSX still gets great MPG with the 5speed automatic, and Honda/Acura does have one of the best transmissions out for cars. While Nissan/Infiniti transmissions aren't really that great.... I driven the 6speed man. for the Infiniti G and Nissan Z. Man oh man that thing is sloppy. It grinds gears.... apparently.. Feels like it to me. Then I hop'd in a TSX 6 speed, and the gear changes were smoother and crisp. I also googled some of this stuff and its true.

Hahah, so true, but I think a fully loaded G25 might still be in the... 38K~40K range. I think... I think we can all agree that Infiniti packages and pricing are pretty high. An Insideline article states the G25 starts at 30,995. Basically, 31K.. A regular G37... starts at 33K. Hits around 45K OTD for fully loaded.. If the base MSRP is only about 2K difference... The G25 would probably cost still nearly 40K. (Of course my #s are all guessing and assumptions =)] But I would like to note that if its gonna be like that in pricing why not pay a bit more for that G37? No? Lol.

Also, I do want to give Infiniti credit for there marking choice. Why? This is the time where Toyota/Lexus isn't doing so well so the IS250 might not be on someones wish list or buy list. So people will look towards other cars in that segment that is JDM. The only other car that is in the IS250 segment that is JDM is the TSX. So Infiniti decide to release the G25 hoping to take some of the sales. That's what I believe =). But still I rather get a TSX. Just my opinion. The V6 TSX, because I believe the Infiniti G25 pricing are gonna be high.

i hope you are not kidding right cause i test drove a g37 coupe and the dash gauges are the cheapest thing i have ever seen it looks like a flat piece of plastic with cheap needles inserted right on top of it like those cheap after market white guage inserts they sell for the honda civics remember those its just to one dimensional compare to the tsx. also a 2.5L v6 is not much bigger than a 2.4L 4 its basically a 4 cylinder its just marketing hype to make it sound better imo just a couple horses more.

Again, they updated them in 2010. I sat in one and was very impressed. Not by just the gauges but the whole car in general. Way less plastic than the TSX uses.

For a G37, but the G25 will have the same features and interior for the less than what a TSX goes for.

Per the article auto headlights and dual zone climate will be options along with heated mirros. So it looks like it will caost a few hundred more than the TSX and have fewer standard features than the TSX. Also offering a manual makes it more appealing to me so TSX FTW.

Unfortunately, according to car and driver, the g25 will only have an automatic transmission available. The gas mileage doesn't look that great either.

we wont know until it comes out but i have a hunch that infiniti along with all the other luxury brands will always charge you and arm and a leg for every option they can think of, so my opinion is yes a standard g25 will cost as much as the tsx with tech and the loaded g25 with navi will be around 35k.

Why would we debate something that not even release to public yet.
Just wait for another month then make your comparison.

First off this car is going to be a Small v6 and AWD for 900 more then a 4 cylinder TSX that is FWD.. this car is going to steal alot of market share from the 328, A4 , IS250 and TSX..
I hate when people come in comparing the G37x to a TSX or 328 , the G37X BLOWS them away in every catogory but customers are trying to nickel and dime us comparing it to cars with 100 less HP..
This is going to be a BIG hit for INfiniti...

If someone sum all the people that have leave Acura for
Infinity, Genesis , Audi etc. vs the people that are buying
Acuras the result is that the Acura cars are all time best seller in U.S.
other posibility is that all those writing are junk, cause there are millions of these.
