2010 TSX (2.4L) Spark plug change

I changed out the plugs today, and when removing plug
#1 (the one closest to the serpentine belt) I noticed that plug had a rubber grommet on it. Never seen this before. Do I need to install this on the new plug.
(pic attached of old plug) TIA

perhaps that's the spark plug seal.
if the other 3 plugs didnt have it, that means you accidentally took out the seal with the plug on #1

I would investigate the valve cover...to see if the spark plug seal is still intact on Cylinder #1

Seal in cylinder 1 looks fine, and coil that goes on cylinder one looks fine. Very strange.

very strange indeed...
have you always owned the car? perhaps the previous owner/installer of plug added that or forgot to take it off.

install new plug normally and start her up and check for misfires, oil on plugs, etc

Looks like the rubber insert (grommet) from a spark plug socket that has come out and gotten pushed down on that particular plug. Happens all the time. Is your spark plug socket missing its insert? If not...it's from a previous owner/mechanic.
