2010 Tech Tsx Price Question
Hello everyone,
I'm interested in buying a Black Tech Manual 2010 TSX, and as I've been told by the dealerships I've contacted, it's pretty rare in the DFW area where I live.
The dealership is offering to get this car for me from "somewhere", but that it will cost $32,600. According to US News and Reports, which I don't know if it's accurate or not, the average good price is $30,623.
The guy says that because it's so rare and they have to go get it that it justifies their price. I know I'm suppose to argue them down, and I think I can get it do $31,500ish, but I'm not sure if that's still too high. Especially with the 2011 model around the corner.

I think it's too high, especially with the 2011 around the corner. My dealership just so happened to have a 2010 black tech 6MT that they were trying to get rid of so I got mine for 27,500. I know that the MT doesn't sell nearly as well as the AT so you should be able to find somebody who's willing to wheel and deal.

The TSX manuals are somewhat more rare vs. the 5AT, but I still think your salesman is BS'ing you. Never trust a salesman!
I would NEVER believe that a TSX manual is "so rare"... as your salesman states...

There aren't many acura dealers in our area (NOVA) I would call around and ask if they have the one you want on their lot. Finding the car is half the battle. If a dealer has it on their lot they should be more willing to work on price. For what is worth the USAA/ZAGG pricing for a manual transmission tech package is $28902 +tax/tags (processing fee already included)
Opps..Sorry I read your location wrong. I would still recommend calling the dealers in your area.

Thanks everyone. I will be calling more dealerships that are within a decent driving distance. I hope I can get lucky and find a dealership that wants to get rid of their Manual. I think I can get the guy down to $31,500 but compared to some of the other prices it is still super high.

It will vary by location, obviously, but you are right. That is way too high. I went to my dealer and we negotiated first, then we found my car from another dealer 120 miles away. All i paid for was the frieght shipping to get it which was like $300. Whoopy do. If I were to have pushed for a car on the lot I probably could have come down another $500. Whatever. I got exactly what I wanted for a price I thought was fair. And a black tech in manual is not THAT rare. I say B/S and shame on that salesman for trying to argue a higher price for it. Its still a tsx tech. It can still be negotiated.

Even with 2010's on the lot when the 2011's start arriving it will be difficult to get much of a discount on an Acura. They don't hold a lot of cars in inventory and they don't build to suit and thus they are not overwhelmed with cars that won't sell.
You can still negotiate but don't expect the same kind of deals at Acura that you might see with a different manufacturer.
I paid just over 30k for my tech at the end of May.
Good luck
