2010 Tech : Can you record a route with the GPS?

Hi all,

I have written directions to someplace I want to go tomorrow. Does the Navigation system have a "record" feature so the route can be stored for the future? I was looking throught the options but didn't see anything. I would appreciate any help, yes or no. Thanks!

the third gen TL has a "previous route" option where you can scroll through your previous destinations.

I'm willing to bet that function is still there on the 2nd gen TSX

Thanks for your quick response, I have that as well, but only if I entered a destination. What I have is written directions that I am going to follow from paper.

What I am trying to say, is that I would like to hit some sort of "record" button at the start of my route and it would remember the exact route I took in the Navi.

lol why not just enter the address into the navi?

it will solve all your problems. it will then "remember" your route.

I know the older TLs had "bread crumbs" but haven't noticed if the latest versions have that or not. Additionally a recording would likely be confusing if you were to change lanes, go in for gas, food or other stores and of course deviate from the route. This would in turn create a really winding and hard-to-follow route.. just my 2cents.

Type in your destination, and then instead of picking the option to calculate the route, select "add to today's destinations." You can save up to 5 destinations that way. The last time I used it, I was checking out houses for sale. I put all 5 addresses in the navi, and then picked the farthest location (so that I can start far away and work my way back home). At each location, I just picked the next closest location.

The addresses in "today's destinations" are not removed until you reach them. Thus, you can put them in today and they will stay there until you decide to drive out to them.

As for putting in an exactly route to take, you can't do that. The navigation will always want to take an exact route. You can set up waypoints, or pitstops, though. For example, on my trip home from the grand canyon, I set up a waypoint in Barstow that would have me detour towards Vegas a little. I think you can set up a few waypoints, but you have to set them after you have told your navi to calculate the route.
