2009 TSX - Designed for these guys
For those that are curious, Acura's 'advance' consumers seem more interested in talking on the phone & playing with their iPod than driving:

so why would I buy an '09 TSX then?
oh, I don't talk on the phone while driving either...
so, where does that leave me?
screwed, that's where.
I don't feel bad at all about my '08 anymore.
I think I'll keep it until it dies.

I was really hoping that when the pictures came out today my negative opinion would change about this car, but that didn't happen. Maybe I should do what these guys are doing: don't look at it, and don't drive it.

I'm all for Acura targeting the Market segment of the young urban professionals (Yuppies).
That Market segment is a large and legitimate one especially with the economy doing not so well, young professionals are looking for a nice sedan with style and value.
I just feel they missed the mark on the exterior styling of the 09 TSX.
Interior I'm sure is a nice improvement though.

He is not the guys in the picture, he does not browse these boards, but he loves the look! He's a professional photographer in his mid-40s.

They're going for the older crowd that doesn't care about performance obviously.

The guys in the picture look like they should be in Entourage! Honestly though, I do like the new TSX and will probably sell my MT 05 and buy one. I like the mix of performance and creature comforts so for me it seems like the new model will deliver.

Too honest..... that kills the car!
Regarless.... pls admit the fact that Honda screw up on their new lines' design big time. The new TSX looks so like one of those US Built car like Chevy Malibu...., etc Where that hack is the Japanese character on this Japaneses Car which supposes to carry the real Europena style that cannot be found here!!!???

One other good example... Ford Fussion... beside the Malibu

Sad thing is that I know guys like that and they're more likely to drive a BMW or Audi....oh wait, they do drive BMWs or Audis. I think Acura would like to get customers like that, but most likely it's gonna be people in their 40's who are gonna buy this car......maybe.

The advertisers can't promote the "good looks" of the car, can they? The designers kinda screwed them on that angle, didn't they? And obviously a TSX buyer is not that concerned with absurd horsepower 16mpg engine or a $50k+ status symbol excessive luxury car.

The white guy up front is the chauffeur. What amuses me most about the picture is how far back the rear seats look. They must have removed the steering wheel for the picture or used some crazy lens.

I believe I'm going to pay the premium (3-4K more) and purchase a 09 or 2010 Cadillac CTS when my lease is up in April of 2010. I just don't like where Acura went with the TSX and I think I get more value for my money purchasing a CTS than a TL (although we haven't seen the new TL yet).

is that top pic from the Euro or USA Accord? i like the dash on the Accord version than the TSX one, looks cleaner and less confusing with less buttons. the hazard button is in the right place on the Accord. on the TSX why is it under the huge ass navi knob? also, i like the placement of the vents on the Accord more than the side vents on the TSX.

But obviously the new TSX doesn't catch the eyes of the 20 - 30. But instead, it seems like the design is for 40 + range

Sorry, I can't explain it any better, but think of it as selling an image.
