2009 TSX beeps when key in accessory (I) position and door open
Hi -
I've had a 2nd gen (2009) TSX for a few years, now (purchased August, 2008). It's always puzzled me that if I put the key in accessory position (I) and open the door, the car beeps and displays a message saying "return key to lock (0)."
Page 123 of the manual indicates this is correct behavior:
Does anyone know why this is the case, or how to disable it? My previous car (Toyota Camry) didn't have this problem, and it makes it next to impossible to listen to music while detailing.
Thanks!
- Mark

It suppose it would be nice if there were a way of disabling it, or acknowledging that yes, you do know the key is in the ignition..

i dunno if you've actually tried it, but you don't want to have the car set to accessory and listen to music while detailing. the car WILL die in less than 5 minutes. either turn the car on and listen to music. it'll take you atleast 2 hours of idling to use even a gallon of gas lol. or buy a boombox and leave the key in your pocket

Yeah, I realize there are other options for music. Fuel usage is not a concern. I wouldn't want to be around an environmentalist when idling the engine, though

yeah our batteries are tiny. i remember when i went to get my windows tinted the battery died in the 30 min it took them to do the job...whereas i remember in my old car i remember napping in my car with the radio on for about an hour with no issues. But then again the battery in that car was almost double the size of the one we have (audi a4).
