2009 Acura TSX...Pennsylvania...went in for an oil change and coming up on inspection

My sister took her TSX to the stealership and she's coming up on inspection. This is what they told her:

"Perform Fuel Injection Service (found throttle body in need of cleaning) - $119.95" "Fail"
"Replace rear brake pads and resurface rear brake rotors (3/32 or less) - $279.95" "Fail"
"Replace air filter element (found air cleaner element to be dirty)" - $55.95" "Fail"

"Replace cabin/HEPA micro filter (Found cabin/HEPA micro filter dirty" - "55.95" - "Caution"
then they are saying she needs 3 new tires (probably true), a wheel alignment, and brake system fluid exchange ($130 for the fluid exchange!).

also replace right fog light assembly - $312.72

i think she can do air and cabin filter herself easily. fog light assembly maybe (part is like $150?), if we take the bumper off which looks easy, the fuel injection and brake system stuff sounds like b.s. to me....

thoughts?

Don't do anything the MID doesn't tell you to do. Those things aren't just for decoration, Honda engineers actually put time and effort into making them. To not adhere to the MID would be an insult to all those engineers.

Looks like the dealer took advantage of your trusting sister.

If she use premium gas, there's no need to clean the throttle body until 100K mark. Even if she needs it done sooner, (ie get sticky gas pedal), a can of TB cleaner cost less than $10 at auto part store.

Rear pads and rotor is dealer price (check if this qualify for replacement pads for the class action lawsuit), she may be able to claim $150 back from Honda.

Air filter and cabin filter cost $20 each, and can be replaced by even a novice in less than 10 minutes.

Fog lights assembly require front bumper removal, but the dealer has definitely charged the highest possible price on that job.

The brake fluid change is recommended maintenance every 3 years regardless of mileage. It's one thing that the service nanny doesn't track (in the first gen anyway), and I'd assume that's the case in the newer cars too.
