Talking 100k service for cu2(maily oil)

So this may have been talked about before but I cant find it.

I reach 100k miles on my CU2 and am going to do the 100k mile service.

Spark plugs
oil change
driver belt
driver tensioner
water pump (if needed)
coolant flush
transmission flush
power steering flush

Now I have I have 2 questions. 1 is on the oil.

I have been reading on many forums but of course everyone has different opinions.

What I want to know is what oil is be for high mileage car and what makes it the best? I have read a test some have done and some are good results but what do you guys think here is a link to a test I found. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=210657

I have been using mobile 1, and I have used Castrol Titanium and love Castrol more, but now there is a new Castrol Edge extended performance and it says guaranteed protection up to 15000 miles with titanium FSi.

so what im asking which is better and if any of you guys have tried Castrol and what you think and if there are any other recommendations but if there are what makes them so special.

I herd Pennzoil ultra or high mileage but not sure. or Quaker state ultimate durability.

Now 2nd part of this thread is for transmission. which is best and why. of course many will say OEM, but I was wondering on Castro trans fluid. well let me know guys. I hope this isn't confusing. and my bad if it is. lol

dude, dont get too caught up in brand marketing.

today's modern oil is so advanced that brands dont matter.
it's just marketing speak that says "buy me"

if you change your oil regularly, according to the MID, which should be about 6-7k mile intervals, you will be fine with whatever brand you choose. Dont forget to change the filter, regularly.

the weight of oil is dependent on weather.
I run a 5w-30 because I live in texas and its super HOT here.
Honda wants you to use a 0w-20, which is a synthetic.

and dont get too caught up in brand marketing.

Why do you love one more than the other, when there is no possible way to tell the difference?

i am hooked on Mobil1. Been using it since the 80's.
WHY.......no reason but back then there werent many choices.

so i still use it EVERY change. my jeep has 156K and never seen anything else EVER.

buy the jugs when walmart has them on sale. usually less than 30 for 5 quarts.

for my family's vehicles, I buy the stuff that's on sale at autozone.
usually mobil1 or penzoil or valvaline. which ever is on sale at the time.
usually about 24-25 bucks with fram filter.

and as long as you change the oil regularly, the vehicle will keep on ticking past several hundred thousand miles.

OEM filter, with mobil1 full synthetic, your engine wi thank you

definitely do tensioner, and valve adjustment

check wheel bearings too. doesn't the CU2 have Electronic power steering? if so then you don't need a flush lol

thanks guys for all the info. sorry I haven't been on here in a while.

question though, is there a diy how to do a valve adjustment?

also I like castro because for some reason I feel the my car runs smoother then other brands. that said I feel a little bit of a difference. but a lot of people also say they don't feel jack. but its like saying I put premium then regular gas. or like a much better comparison is saying, I prefer hess gas then Sunoco gas. hess last longer and you feel it preforms better then cheap gas.

You will need to go to the dealer for valve adjustment.
