haha i know dudee, i love s2k haha. when i was a kid i was staring at the car, and i was like "daddy waht is that?" and fell in love with it ever since. and now i finally have one, a s2k...phone holder, that doesnt even fit my iphone and only fits small phones

PWP or CBP, I agree, flip a coin. Grigio, PMM, PWP and CBP were on my list, and in that order.

After driving a 1st gen loaner for almost three weeks, I gave in and took black, primarily because I was a little concerned they were trying to undo the deal, which was sssmoking.

This may sound goofy, but I was just telling a friend about this forum and remarked on how I was kinda proud of you young guys/gals with these cars in that you were thankful, hard working young people who appreciated what you had.

I may not be 16 or 17 but I still consider myself a young guy at 21. When I introduce myself on car forums on the net, I never disclose my age because I always see young car owners getting flamed. Like you said though heavy, this site is no 8thcivic lol. I do agree that the members here are on the most part mature and respectful.

I don't really think the TSX matches a snobby irresponsible driver. I imagine those people would choose a more "mainstream" vehicle because they probably dont even know what a TSX is lol.

twenty three here bought hte car at 21 with me own moneys yayyyy, first car was a brand new 05 corolla which i also bought with my own money at 18, and traded in for this :o) I lik ebuying cars alone makes me feel grown up. even though i'm still a toddler in the timeline of life

average buyer for our car is 35 years old according to acura when I bought it anyway

Well, I obviously had assistance from my parents, but for the most part have been working my ass off to maintain 'er. I currently make all monthly payments...working crazy hours at a supermarket/AP classes at school...I wouldn't trade it for the world.

werd. Most of my friends and I receive alot of support from our parents because lets face it....its hard to afford tuition fees, car payments, gas, leisure etc.etc. as a young adult. I know there are some people who can do this and maintain a full time job but it is very hard. I do not think spoiled is the right term though because we do not take this support for granted and overall we are responsible individuals are headed down the right path in life.

Even though I did not receive that type of treatment from my parents because they just couldn't afford to, I do agree with you that most of you seem very humble about it and don't take it for granted.

However, that being said, I will not be buying my son a brand new car ever. My views as a parent are much different than my views were as a child/young adult.

To the OP, you can't go wrong with either PWP or CBP. As an alternative, I also like Grigio.

My first car was a Pontiac T1000 which is same as a Chevette. The 4MT (no overdrive) was my introduction to driving a stick. But the payment back in 81 was around US$110/month. You are fortunate to get a TSX at 17, just enjoy it and be responsible.

i would actaully agree with you on that, when i become a dad in the future, i would not get my child a brand new car, probably a used one or one that i already have, unless i feel that they are very responsible and drive safely. but like u said, ur views changed when u become a parent, so mine might too

yeah not sure spoiled is the right word. more like fortunate and appreciative.we're all here because we share the same passion and care for our cars no matter what our age is. i guarantee everyone here treats their car like gold no matter who is paying for it or how old they are. where im from its the norm for kids to gets beamers, benz's, caddi's and lexus's that cost 40 thousand +. My best friend just picked up his 2010 a4 that his parents bought for him today.
Spoiled isnt really the right word here, its all relative. i didnt start this post to be called spoiled i just wanted the input and opinions from people who share the same interest and passion that i do for the TSX.

I don't think you are spoiled, just fortunate.

Regarding the aero kit, it looks particularly nice on PWP. Try negotiate with the dealer on including that in the price, make them throw in the all weather mat (stock one are very thin and easily worn), locking lugnuts also.

^ haha yeah. kids at my school gets bimmers lexus benz, a lot are modded, a lot are stock. some kids even have porches! sigh..but im happy with the tsx

I personally WOULD NOT get a 30K+ car as my first car or would not recommend it to anyone.. I would ask your pops for like a 1999 accord to learn to drive for a year or so and then if all goes well and you get some expirence under the belt then get a 30K car.. No Offense but alot of 17 Y/O think they are invincable and are great drivers when they have no clue..
And your dad will respect you ALOT more if you say "dad can you get me a hoopty till I learn to drive and then get me my TSX w/bodykit and rims"

My first car was a 1989 Caddy sevile in 1998.. then in march of 2000 I bought my first new car with my own money .. A 2001 CL-S, first one to have one in march.. It was great , all the ricers wanted to race me, and I crashed it like 6-7 times..LOL..So even after the expirence with the caddy I still could not drive!

haha funny you said that, becuase i did ask for a used car, but my parents were against buying used car, they said it might break down and you dont know what problems they had before, new cars tend to do that less so i dont have to worry for the first few years i drive. but dont worry its my "first" car but i drive a 2002 honda civic every since i got my license, tsx is just weekend car for now..

i would wait on the aero bumpers since this is your first car and god forbid you have a front or rear accident, then it would be an easy upgrade/fix since they come oem painted

+1, my front bumper got scrached couple weeks ago from some unkown reason so now thers scratched paint on the lower right side of bumper...mom said no need to fix cuz it cost a few hundred bucks and it might scratch again. but i might just fix it wtih my own moeny later on

I mowed 8-10 yards for years, towing a Snapper lawn mower behind my go-cart around the neighborhood to buy my first car... for $400, a 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo with a 250 hp Turbo-Jet 350 2bbl with a 350TH auto trans.

Then I kept mowing my ass off to get a 71 SS454, but I digress.

Meanwhile, the ex beyotched about having to drive a B210 to school, surounded by BMW's and Benzes, etc, but now she understands what I meant about appreciating it.

My parents buying me my new 2010 TSX this christmas and me just turning 17 and getting out of my 87 mercury cougar they shoved on my when I was 16 for a year to drive they thought I was going to crash....I now roll up in the school parking lot at school and people give me nasty jealous looks since its like the newest car in the parking lot.

Perhaps you should expand and explain yourself a little bit further...instead of just flatly saying that all kids with nice cars are spoiled. Just accept the fact that some parents want to buy nice cars for their kids..and some parents, like you, would not. And just the same some kids will abuse this luxury and some will drive it responibly. This is life...it is comprised of many different people.

If my parents were able to and bought me a brand new car when I was younger, I certainly wouldn't have turned it down, that's for sure. Someone could call me spoiled all they want, it wouldn't make me enjoy it any less.

Consider what I said again; you're generalizing all teens who drive premium cars, and that's not just. While 99% of teens who receive premium cars are irresponsible, didn't accomplish squat to achieve the car, and don't know proper driving techniques, there is a slim margin of teen drivers who worked/are currently working their asses off to maintain their car and are responsible drivers. I come from a modest background; consider the fact that some of our parents did not throw a bow on the roofs of our cars for our 16th birthdays; we worked for them and earned them.

We're all major car enthusiasts here; lets not jump to conclusions, boys! Lets enjoy our TSXs, agreed?

IMO All teenagers ARE BEING spoiled if they are given a brand new TSX which they didnt have to work for. You live in Van you know what I'm talking about...theres more teenagers driving beemers here than there are people riding the bus!

But then again some people can still be humble even if they get brand new cars when there teenagers.

I guess if someones from a wealthy family then a TSX is just like buying a civic for the rest of us

shift_acura I know what you mean. Everytime I go to richmond I see A Class cars everywhere and thery are all being driven by teens who I know cant be paying for the car. Its the same thing when I go to class at SFU.

Heres the thing; I used to pay for my car but it got too hard recently so my parents are helping me out for the moment. Since I am not paying for my car right now, does that make me spoiled? When I start paying for it again will I then become "un-spoiled"? It doesn't make any sense.

Anyways, maybe Im just being defensive because I genuinely do not see myself as "spoiled." There are so many negative connotations attached to the word that it really can be taken personally. Who wants to be looked at as someone who does not deserve/work for anything they have....

I am impressed with all the youngsters here who have been able to score a nice ride like the TSX. Despite most of you getting help to get the car, it seems like you all are appreciative of your fortunate situation and don't take it for granted. Maybe that's just the type of personality that the car attracts
