Talking '09 TSX Tein Suspension

Hey all, Thanks to MrHeelToe!!!

I dropped off my TSX at Tein this morning and I was pretty excited. They're going to have my car for roughly 4 days and will be doing some R&D for the suspension and Fujitsubo will also be joining them and doing some R&D as well for exhaust. As it stands now they will only be doing measurements and hopefully after they've developed the products she'll be going back in for some testing and fitments.

So I'll be updating/blogging this thread to keep you guys updated on whats going on all the way to the end when the car has a said line of their suspension on there, along with updates of ride quality and what not, as well with the updates of wheels and tires once it's all said and done.

Excellent news! Thanks for volunteering your car man! I can't wait for Tein to release some springs / coilovers for the car. I'd be interested to hear the Fujitsubo exhaust. I just hope I can find one that is low enough in tone to suit my tastes. Coming from a G35 coupe, its going to be hard to find an exhaust that can best or at least tie it in sound lol.

Thank's guys.. I'm also starting to look for some nice wheels.. if anyone has any recommendations or thoughts please feel free to voice your opinion.. what i'm looking for are wheels that would come flush with my fenders maybe even some concaveness to them would be cool too. I know it's not a rwd car and what not but i really want a clean look along with keeping some nice handling.

Ya, I'm going for that same concave look. Found some possibilities, but still trying to narrow it down. LoL, sorta off topic but the mod bug has me so bad that a night or 2 ago I dreamed that I traded in my 09 TSX for an 1gen M/T so I could get some mods and a comptech S/C for it.

They look like the BBS CH, and the owner had the "Time Attack" red paint done.

Can someone learn me about offsets and the new TSX? I've seen fwd cars before with some sick wheels and keeping them flush and also delivering the concave look and stance on the car. Hell many of the TL's do aswell.

Been looking around and the 20-22mm offsets look like they'll do the job.. but coming from a rwd car to a fwd car i'm not sure what (if any) effects that kind of offset would have on my car and it's handling.

!!UPDATE!!

I picked up my car this morning and they were done with the measurements and that sort of stuff. And as per the tech, I should expect a call to bring her in again for fitting close to end of year or early next year (mid dec - to mid jan). So that's roughly the time frame we will have the suspension from Tein.

I also spoke with the tech about wheels and fitments, and he said he won't know for sure until they have the car with the suspension installed. He did say however the dampers would be larger than the stock so he'd have to see how much clearance it would allow for wider wheels.

^ that is very promising! you are immediately addressing some of the issues i had with the new tsx: wheels, appearance, power (even if only a couple hp from exhaust). good luck

Update!!

Hey all,

Been a while happy new year and all that jazz. But Today I once again dropped off my TSX for fitment of prototype S. Tech Springs.

Stay tuned for details on the drop and so forth.

As far as coilovers I have no new info just yet but hopefully I will soon.

I was at Tein on Thursday picking up parts and I saw the car there with the SS damper kit on it. Drop looked good! There was about 1.5-2 finger gap on the fenders. It looked pretty sharp! They are still revising the spring rates, initial rates were a little soft the engineers told me.

The kit looked really nice

Thanks Marcus,

I didn't get to see my car with either kit on it unfortunately. =( When I picked it up on Friday, the engineer told me they'll be mailing out my set once the mass production sets were in as they were still making final adjustments. They test the SS kit which could also end up being the 3G TL set as well and also S. Tech springs for those that just want the drop.

But yeah guys there will be Tein stuff out very soon and I'm sure Marcus will have plenty of that info once it does.
