$200 Price Increase

I went into the dealership to negotiate on the purchase of a new TSX and I was surprised that the starting number was higher than expected. I was wondering why that was, because I had thrown around figures with the salesman on the phone and through email.

The general manager told me that starting from 2009, all TSX models experienced an increase on their invoice price of $200 despite it being the EXACT SAME CAR. At first I thought it was baloney but I called a salesman friend of mine in another state and he confirmed that there was a letter sent out about this. Just wanted to let everyone know since I didn't really see any information about this (and I'm a regular lurker)

It's not a huge difference but I was a little disappointed when I first got a figure that was not exactly what I expected. But negotiations are almost done and because tomorrow is the last day of incentives Chevy Chase Acura will be open. Hopefully I'll be able to finally sign in on the "Owner's Thread"!

PS: My salesman friend said that this $200 increase might only apply to those TSXs built after 1/1/2009, but he said he wasn't sure. I will try to confirm this tomorrow.

I just put a deposit down on one today. It should arrive in about two weeks.
Not sure if I am going to buy it or lease though....
It was the last black car my dealer was getting until the 2010's. It was very hard to negotiate.

Happens all the time. Sometimes its the destination charge sometimes its the car. Cars delivered earlier should be lower in price. Check the window sticker.

The $200 is for all cars delivered to the USA after 1.1.09. I have a buddy who is a long-time sales mgr and he told me this.
