Yokohama tires - AvidV4S vs. YK520

Need new tires for my 2003 TL-S. Discount tires says they are out of Avid V4S and will give me the new YK520s at the same price. Looks like YK520s are more for touring, less performance. Any advice?

Stay with AvidV4S

I would definitely stay with the avidv4s and not accept any substitutes, even if it means waiting a few days. Good luck.

Yoko got it right with the V4s - I could not be happier with mine.

Yokohama v4s good but not happy with longevity

I have had the Yokohama V4s on my wife's 2003 TL. 43k miles on them now and they are about done, at least for winter driving. The car rides well with the Yoko's but I can't say I am happy with the longevity, the OEM Michelins went were good to 70k. The Yoko's were the recommended replacement tire when I researched them years back and the price was significantly less than Michelins so I guess I am satisfied overall. Winter driving seemed ok with them but my wife now seems to be concerned with the winter driving (she doesn't like to slip at all) so I will likely get her a set of Blizaaks or comparable for winter and see how far I can stretch the Yoko's to by using them from Spring through Fall.
