Xxr 521 or xxr 527?

I have an 03 AM TL-S and am looking in the market for some nice wheels. 18x8.75 is what i'm looking towards with 215/40/18 tires. Im looking at flat bronze or possibly gunmetal. Thoughts or opinions guys?

Saw a similar set up today on a 3rd gen tl and decided im doing to go with them in 18x 8.75 +35 with probably a 235/40/18 or 245/35/18 tire

You're driving an expensive car... Don't skimp on the wheels... Anyone in with a Ford Pinto can get Xxr's... Look for some deals on forged wheels...

not sure how that makes any sense. also, if you paid over 10k for your 03 tl-s in the past 2-3 years, you're doing it wrong.

Well I prefer handling and ride quality so mine are 18's... They bend in the most extreme circumstances... I did exaggerate there, better than your wheels breaking on you... We've all seen pics of fake wheels and replica's breaking on people... It wouldn't be a big deal if companies didn't claim their wheels are lightweight and compromise on their strength... Just be careful... I've had friends roll on replica's and end up with a lot of damage... Thats why I waited and got the real deal... Just depends on whether you care about your ride enough or not...

I have been bending factory oem wheels that's why I try not to send to much money on wheels (potholes are bad in my area). The only real expensive wheels I care for are legitimate racing hart wheels and I only like buying things brand new 90+% off the time. Since they haven't made them in years that's not going to happen. Thanks for your

Thats a poor excuse. The way the Racing Hart 3 piece can be rebuilt there is NO reason not to get a used pair. You can custom make them (And assemble them yourself, I just bought 2" lips to make mine 9" wide) with a little searching front and rear barrels can be found, find a pair and have them refinished if you want the brand new look. They are VERY strong. I hit a pot hole that was big enough to bend the lower arm and the wheel only received minimal damage, of which was able to be fixed for 100 bucks.

Next time just grab a can of plastidip and spray the front, peal it off when you get to where you are going . It would be faster and easier lol. They even make it in blue like the tape if you really like the color

Im thinking still. 527s are nice so are 521s. But 521s look a bit awkward in the front. 530s are nice too. Anywhere I can find them in bronze?

I like the way the 527 also but I'm not sure I'm going to run either because they won't clear bbk in the +35 offset

Wheels are very very important. I sure as fuck don't want anything cheap like ((((XXR))) that will possibly break or destruct some how on the HWY or anywhere, especially when i have my baby or wife in the car. So give your head a shake. You have a 3G. Its still a TL a couple years newer?? lol Nice wheels but i's rather have good safety and wheels that will still look good 3 years later. Even though i change wheels more often than that,

What are the documented cases (statistics) of XXR and other cast wheels breaking under normal driving conditions aka highway etc...

Probably very low, its just a personal preference and a "rather be safe than sorry" thing.

I never said anything about having a 3G and being "better" than you.
weird to have to say that as thats not what we're arguing about.

and I can understand the safety aspect of it.
but no where in this thread did that argument come up.

a couple of my friends have XXR's and they've held up so far.
these arent fakes or even replicas...

18x8.75 with +20 offset to have a little poke. Bronze is a must since it flows well with the gray. Tire size I am looking towards 215/40/18

The question wasnt asked if you wanted them or if they were safe for your family, It was asked what our opinion would be of the ones listed. Oh, And Thanks for sharing, and i urge you not buy them.
