I have a 17 inch rim, I know it's too small but I'm replacing the tires on them I had 205/40/17 would you suggest to upgrade to 205/45/17 or 205/50/17 I was thinking of tyre stretching them but idk how wide the tire is so ill see when I get there, 45 or 40? might sell the rim for 18 inch rims and more wider

 

how wide are your 17s? if you have 17x8 you'll stretch nice on 205/45 without sacrificing too much ride comfort. if you want to stretch nice i suggest getting 8.5"-9.5" wide 18s and 215/45 or 225/40

 

Why would you stretch tire on a 17" wheel? Are you even lowered? There's no point in stretching tire if you are at stock height.

 

a 45 or 50 wouldnt be a upgrade, and that is also not the width of the tire. That is the aspect ratio (profile).
