Urgent help needed with tires

All,

I have a 2000 TL. It has Eibach springs (I think a 2" drop) and Tokico Illumina shocks. I currently run 225/40/18 tires/rims. Today I was on my way to get the tires rotated, and heard this "thump thump thump thump" sound from my front right passenger side. Upon taking it to the place, this is what they found...

The tire has completely split on the inside.

Now, I noticed the entire interior of the tire was completely bald, while the rest of the tire appears to be in good shape. I have about 7k miles on these tires.

What do I need to do to correct this problem with the tires balding like this? How can this be prevented when I'm using this size rim/tire? Do I need a camber kit or spacers? I do hear some rubbing on this side of the car when I am backing up.

Thanks.

It's possible that you may need a camber kit. But I wouldn't rule out the need for a basic alignment first to have the toe specs and components checked.

Definitely a wheel alignment, then see how bad your camber is before you get a camber kit. With 2' drop, i would say you will need camber kit also.

So, would I need an alignment, then a camber kit, then install, then an alignment again? Would I be better off just buying the kit and getting an alignment? Would I need the kit for the front or for both the front and back?

I suggest you get the camber kit. I have the same setup on rims/tires with a 3.5" drop and with the SPC camber kit, i dont have any negative camber at all. Got my alignment done the same day i put on the kit and i dont have to worry about my tires wearing like that
