Tokico Illuminas - Yes or No
Okay, after searching multiple threads on to find out if the Illuminas have been good, bad, etc . . . I'm going to do a post for just that . . so
I'm set on getting the Illuminas or HP Blues, so for those that have experience or still have Tokico Illuminas, how have they been?
Ride?
Is the adjusment feature still working?
Durability?
Would you have gone with the Tokico HP Blues instead?

Sorry, I know you're asking Illumina owners. I drive downtown Atlanta traffic M-F, and I love my HP Blues + H&R Sport spring combo. It's like stock, but a little stiffer. My girlfriend couldn't even notice a difference in the ride quality, and that says A LOT! lol Of course, being the driver/car enthusiast, you'll notice that it's slightly different.
But it also depends on your plans. Are you one that likes to go LOW? Prefer STIFF or SOFT? What kind of springs are you getting with them?

I've got Comptech springs and the OEMs are done for and need new struts, so just trying to decide if the Illuminas are worth the extra $$. I can get them for around $440 and can pull that off, but can do a few other things if I get the HP Blues which are about $160 less. The idea of changing performance settings is cool, but only if it really does the job and last as long as more basic struts.
And thanks for the feedback.

HP Blues are mediocre shocks. I've had mine for over 2 years with Tanabe NF210 springs and I can't say I'm impressed. If I could do it again I would have gotten Bilstein Sport Shocks and H&R Sport Springs. Those will run you abotu $850.00 total apposed to about $525.00, but are far superior products. I wish I spent the extra $325.00. However for entry level products they are pretty good, just don't expect a huge improvement.
