Tire size question/opinion
I have CL-S wheels (17x7) and am considering mounting a set of 235/45/17 tires on them. Now I know the rims are a little too narrow (7.5" suggested minimum width for a 235 tire), but I know a few people here have done it. The 235/45/17 tires are sitting in my basement; otherwise I would buy more suitable tires.
Does this pose a safety concern? What about the effect on driving, i.e. cornering, stopping, etc.? Any info is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I have 2002 TLS with stock rims and I just put 235/45/17s on it and it feels and rides great. TiresPlus told me they fit just fine so I went with it. At the end it even looks good since edge of the tire meets the edge of the rim perfectly flush!
I went with Avon Tech M550 A/S and I love them so far.

should be fine, mount them, and notice how much tire lip is extending past the rim, that way you know that if it is flush with the rim, you pose a higher risk of jacking up a rim over a pothole etc.
