Tire Size and Navi

Hey guys,

Quick question.... I have an 02 TLS Navi, and I have 06 TL rims... The size tires I have on my car are P235/45 R17 95W and are Michelin Pilot HX MXM4. Could the difference in tire size cause my navigation to be off, which it is sometimes? I went into the diagnostic screen and there is an area for "Tire Calibration," but I dont want to touch anything until I confirm this with someone who actually knows what the hell I'm supposed to do. I asked my dealer about it, and all three service advisors there had no clue about the hidden menu on the Navi, and thus were no help. So if anyone can help shed some light on this for me, I'd be pretty thankful!!!

The tire calibration will automatically adjust itself. I've messed with it quite a few times just to see the results and it will always go back to the orginal value. If you want to mess with it as I did to see if it goes the number goes back to the orginal value, it won't harm anything. Just make sure you remeber the orginal value. Also make sure you have the automatic tire calibration feature turned on. Here is a very useful thread about the diagnostic screen. Check out davermans post about 1/2 way down. Hope that helps.

Oh great! I did search for this, but I didn't find that particular thread. I did see one of his other posts about the hidden menu. I'll try to PM him and ask him if he can tell me more in depth what settings I should choose. Even though the auto-tune is on, it seems to still be a bit off. Thanks for finding that thread, I'm not quite sure why I didn't see that.

No problem...it actually isn't a very easy thread to find. Only reason I knew it was there is from when I installed the OEM Nav...I searched for about a month to find ANY thread that dealt with the Nav system. So when is the Nav "off" and is it something new that never happened before you had the new rims put on? Just curious?
