Would anybody be able to recommend a good set of tires for my RJ inspyres? Right now I am currently running 225/40/18 Kumho Ecsta ASX . Something relatively inexpensive will do. Also should I bump it up to 235?

What are you looking for the tire to do? All season, performance? snow? just dry pavement? rain? general tire? Whats Inexpensive to you?

I would check out this site. Enter the size you want pick the brands and what type of tire (ie all season, performance) and it will come back with all the tires. There are customer reviews and comparisons

I would like all season peformance that would need to drive well in the rain since it rains a lot in Seattle. I really dont want to spend over 150 bucks a tire. Thanks

i liked the khumo asx the most when it comes to rain/snow traction. i'm on BFG traction t/a's they are good, but i miss the asx's

I would like to try something rather than the Kumhos they are cheap but they wear rather quickly.

occasionally will see snow but rarely ever. is it ok to run 225/40/18 or should i run something higher to protect my wheels? Thanks Chris I appreciate the help

Well if they see snow or not makes a huge difference on what tires to get, along with how much they might see

225 40 or 235 40 seem to be the norm. Running a different size effects speedo calibration.

I am probably going to bump it up to 235. Looking at tire rack and i am having a really hard time trying to figure out which tire to get. Should i get all season or just summer tires?

Thanks for the tire link, I think I am going to replace my TL's original tires with Michelin Pilot HX MXM4. I have always had good luck with Michelin tires.

well it depends on IF and how much snow you will ave to drive thru. If its never or less than flurry i would go with summer.

Definently would like to pick up the michelin pilots but man those are 250 a piece!!!

It doesnt snow all that often in the northwest but when it does i try to stay off the roads. Maybe i should just pick up summer tires and then put my stock wheels back on in the winter time.

If you go all-season the Continental ContiExtreme aren't bad (great wet traction, good cornering, fairly quiet, but nothing special in snow for an all-season). I think I paid under $120 per tire last year to fit the stock 17s. They wear fast though, you'll be lucky to get 25K out of them.

id stick with the 225-40's man... 235's look balloony to me by then...

That tire looks pretty decent for the price. Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position look pretty good but man i dont want to spend that much money

i would honestly get a tire that you want. Use your stock tires in the winter months or in the event your going to have to drive in snow.

They are expensive but it has been my experience that michelins last a long time.

Ever think about toyo tires? I have the Proxies4 (235/40/18) on my car ... tread rating of 300. Pretty good for a high performance all-season tire. Pirelli PZ Nero M&S aren't bad, either.

Or ... summer tires (225/40/18) -- why not Toyo Proxies T1R? Those are well rated tires on various forums, including here. (280 tread rating).

Between the 2 sizes and considering your budget, I'd say go 225/40/18 -- more selection, lower price. The difference in the circumference is negligable.

I was looking at the proxies 4 last night. For some reason Tire rack does not list the proxies on there web site. I found a pretty decent price online and i am going to see if a tire shop will match the price.

Much better tires? There are probably better tires for the money, but my experience is that the michelines last longer than any tire I have tried. I live in San Francisco, and I need a tire that can take pot holes and bad streets in general.

Mich makes decent tires, but they arent the best nor do they last the longest. Especially the oem tires. Plus for the price of some of the other tires you can get all 4 for the price of 2 of the oems. My z rated summer tires come within 10k miles of lasting as long as the no grip oem tires, and cost less

The original poster was asking about 18" tires. Last time I checked Yoko V4S do not come in 18" size ...

I was looking at these. The get a good rating at consumer reports but not on tirerack.
