Tire question.
Ok, I got 18in rims and I want to have high profile tires because I don't want my tires to be too thin. Can someone explain to me what 225/45 mean? Also what do yall recommend me having? I have tein basics. I want to have my tires atleast 3inch thick.

TL = Tranny Lubrication
The first number is the width of the tire in millimeters, measured from sidewall to sidewall. To convert to inches, divide by 25.4 .
The second number is the aspect ratio. This is a ratio of sidewall height to width.
The last number is the diameter of the wheel in inches.

You will go crazy to find 225/45/18. Not too many manufactures are making that. You will have much more choice w/ 225/40/18; however your overall diameter will be a little bit small. It's not a big deal anyways and most members here have that profile.
I just changed to Falken 512 couple weeks ago after my stock tires are running for 60kmiles. I cannot believe how much handling improvement can a tire make. Definitely a good tire with low price.
The cheapest Falken is at discounttire.com. I just print a copy and bring it to local American's Tire and they will match it. Don't waste time for online order delivery. Just my
