Tire Question
This question isn't for my TL-S, but I have a problem. My gf has a 02' RSX which is dropped on Tein SS coilovers - dropped to where there is no wheel gap. We have swapped out the factory wheels with stock TL-S wheels with the stock Michelins. The RSX and TL-S have the same bolt pattern so fitment was fine.
Here's my problem - we've noticed that when she has the steering wheel almost fully turned (like when making a U-turn), I can hear the inner part of the wheel rubbing against the wheel well. Now, she needs to replace those stock Michelins with new all-season tires for the upcoming winter. How can I fix this rubbing problem? What, if any, tire size would not give me any rubbing? I also plan on raising the car about 0.25 - 0.5" for the winter.
Thanks in advance.

if you have stock tl tires on the rsx, the sidewall is too tall for rsx, stock size for rsx is 205/55/16 if i remember correctly, when you get new tires get 205/45/17 or 215/45/17

Thanks REV - now I have to find a decent all season tire in that size. Don't want to go to expensive since I think she wants Toyo T1-S's for the spring/summer.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Go with the Sumitomo HTR+ in the 215/45/17 size. I ran them in a 235/45/17 and they were awesome tires. I live near Philadelphia and we got plenty of snow last year to test them out. You won't regret picking them up. They are only $83 per tire from tirerack.

the offset and wheel diameter is differnt on RSX
so you will hear rubbing if u put a larger tire without a question
just put a plus 1 size for the OEM RSX and u will solve the problem

samkws - what do you mean by a plus 1 size for the OEM RSX? I know I have to get a smaller tire size for the stock TL-S in order to fit onto the RSX.
REV-01 suggested a 205/45 or a 215/45 tire - which would be a better bet?
Thanks in advance.

Dude, read my post, it has the info you need. The 215/45 tire will be perfect. What samkws means by plus 1 is when you go from 16" rims to 17" rims you have to try and keep the same overall diameter by getting the right tire size. Here is a link so you can check it out for yourself.
