Angry Tein Basic (Question)

Am having rear rubbing problems with my 1999 Tl and I would like to raise it much more to solve the problem. Would my tein basics work with other aftermarket springs in the rear? cuz the car is raised to its max and I only have like a finger gap between the tired and fender. I really dont wanna mess with the rolling fender cuz I just got a brand new paint job so I rather deal with the suspension first.

wheels specs

18x8
offset 40
225,40,18

Have someone roll the fenders professionally since u have new paint, cut the tabs, or get new wheels.

Min drop is 2" or so in the front and 1.6" in the rear. You should have more than a finger gap, maybe a 1.5-2 finger gap if fully raised, unless you have some serious weight in the trunk. And there are not springs that will work with the Basics.

if you really want to keep those wheels, adjust the camber so that the top of your tires/wheels tuck under the fender. you'll get uneven tire wear but oh well.

thanx alot on the info, In the trunk I have a set of 2 10 alpine type R's, and two amps with the little black spare tired in the bottom. I have called Tein and they told me they do not make any springs that are longer for my basics , but they do make springs that are a bit stiffer. But I dont think that would make a big diffrence. So I went and called K SPORTS, and they told me that the rear springs are half an inch drop fully raised on the 99 TL, I ordered a set for my rear...hopefully those springs will raise my car and match with my basics since they both coilovers..
