Which sway bar makes the most difference?
Between the front sway, rear sway and front strut bar - which would make the most difference as far as cornering goes? I don't have enough cash for all three - so which should I do first. I just recently did Comptech springs and Tokico blues...
Thanks in advance for your help.... |
Comptech sways, they are sold as a set, both front and rear. Strut bar should be at the very end of the mod list, doesn't do nearly as much as any of the other available mods. It looks cool though, if that's your thing.
Although since you don't have headers I would save money for them. You can get a used set off of A-TL or A-CL for around $650. |
I am pretty happy with the car's performance (speed wise), and I just don't see the bang for the buck on the headers right now. I really like driving the car, and tighter handling in corners is what I am looking for.
If sways are the way to go, are comptechs the best? This site sells a bunch of sways, cheaper than comptech. I wish they would show actual stiffness or delfection amounts for the different brands.. Thanks again And no, looks under the hood are not that important (although I do clean under there.......) |
Comptech are excellent.
Neuspeed are probably stiffer and you could get away with doing just the rear. But stiffer is not always better. Too stiff and you can start to make your mounts crack and stuff IIRC. I'd say keep your eyes out for used ct. |
Neuspeed
I just bought and installed the Neuspeed front tower strut bar on my '00 TL. I'm concerned about the torque or how tight the screws should be on the towers. Not sure if theres any expanding once the wheels are cooled down or if that should be of any concern.
Any advice? thanx |
from what i know and how ive had mine.. the screws that hold them in place should not be SOO tight... they have to have SOME sort of leway to give off some of the stress on the bar... so be careful ive seen a lot of htem crackk
