Struts Struts Struts...
Alright. My front OEM struts are on their way out and I am lookin to replace them in the near future. I do not have a lot of money to spend on them so I am either thinking of going with the Tokico HP Blues, or the Tokico Illumina's. I wanted to know whether it is better to get all 4 struts replaced, in that case i would have to get the Tokico Blues, or if it was alright to just replace the fronts, most likely with the Illumina's and then later replace the rears depending on the budget in the future. Thanks!

IMO, i would change all 4, chances are the rear is on their way out soon, also you'd be able to feel the full effect of changing to Tokico. may need camber kit in rear though unless u don't mind the negative camber.

yeah i think i need a camber kit regardless, but im still no the stock rims, i wanna get rid of these stock tires :P, and hopefully ill get rims by the summertime, so i can put in the Camber Kits by then. Im planning on getting all 4 Tokico Illumina's because if i do Illumina's in the front plus HP's in the back v. Illumina's allround, the difference is only like 30 dollars, so i figurd why not? thanks for your help though

Well ... the aftermarket springs will definitely shorten the life of OEM shocks. There's a few people with Tokico Blues -- some think they're great; some hate them (ie they keep getting blown?!) I know Hemants loves his Illuminas. I think based upon his testimony -- spend a little more and get the Illuminas.
I'm still torn between the Illuminas, Koni Yellow or ... (gulp) Tein SS.

yeah i think ive settled on the Illuminas. i just took a trip to the bay area and back nad i was bouncin up n down like i was on a pogo-stick. So the suspension upgrade definately takes priority over a new HeadUnit. Come on Derrick u can do it, Teins!!

If u need OEM struts, I can help. I can get u a lot of discount for dealer since I work for one. Let me know. OEM is expensive even with discount, but it is still OEM. They made the car and they make the Right parts for it.

Do all four, H.
If you only do the front, then it'll throw the balance of the car way off.
Do you want my Type-S struts? They have about 34k miles on them. One of them has a knick on the shaft when I was trying to take off the top mount, but it's toward the top, so it shouldn't be a problem. I mean, if it was more down below and was seriously messed up, then it could've caused an oil leak. But I think it should be fine.

Yeah definately! i wonder if the new struts will raise my car just a tad when its at a standstill. Hopefully i wont be scrapin as often either. Ill have to mess around with the strut settings to find out which combination works the best.

well well well, i finally installed the Tokico Illuminas last night and all i can say is that they are wonderful! I still need to find which setting is a perfect balance for me, but so far they have improved in, cornering, braking, lane changing, stability and overal response of the car. The car is actually raised up just a tad, which means my stock struts were pretty much saggin. I will keep everyone posted as far as which setting works best for me.
