Rear toe adjustment seized
I lowered my car a couple of years ago on H&R sports and had the alignment done a couple of times since, but I still chew through a set of tires in about 6 months. The camber showed "almost" within spec, but the tires are worn at an angle with the inside worn out and the outside hardly worn at all.
Anyway, I bought the SPC front and rear camber kit and installed it. I fashioned my own camber measuring tool with a 2' level and set the camber. The wheels had to come *way* out at the top to make them vertical causing the toe to require a large adjustment.
I took it to the dealer to get final adjustments. They set everything within spec except the right rear toe which is -0.07. To compensate, they set the left rear to 0.03 making the total toe -0.04 which is almost in spec, but it creates a thrust angle meaning the car will drive slightly sideways. Worst part is they didn't even tell me about it! I asked for the alignment sheet and didn't read it until I got home.
I called the next day and the mechanic told me that the right rear toe adjustment was seized and would cost $120 for the part and $120 for labour to fix it.
I want to take it out myself and try to un-seize it but I'm not sure which arm is the adjustable one. Anyone know?
Thanks
