Question on offset

What offset would cause the wheels to stick out slightly?

What I mean by 'slight' is 1/2 inch to 3/4ths. With a slight drop cause the roads suck out my way and I don't want to rub.

Just had a thought about it (wide tire look). And no, I am not on crack...

Thanks

You can go 8" wide if you have an offset of 48 or more. Some folks have 8" wide with 45 offset and don't rub while others do. Some of that has to do with tire size and/or wheel manufacturer. Some people have 42 offset and don't rub because they are not dropped.

I'd look for wheels 7.5 to 8.0" wide with at least a 48 offset. 50 is ideal, then you should have no problems. Take a look at the tire/wheel spec thread at the top of the list and you can see what people have and make an informed decison based on road tested experience.
