PROXES TS-1 or Proxes 4
I would like some of you to tell me your opinion on the Toyo Proxes.
I did do a search but didnt see much about the TOYO PROXES TS-1. I am have not decided on either to get the PROXES 4 or the PROXES TS-1.
I have 18 inch rims. I think I need the 225/40 ZR 18s. Well thats what I have on the car now.
THE TS-1s look way cooler than the Proxes 4.
I will be purchasing two of them asap Please help

I hope you're not basing your tire decision on "looking way cooler".
T1-S is a summer-only tire, and that's what I have on my car in size 235/40/18. Proxes4 is an all-season tire.
If you still have your stock wheels, put T1-S on your 18"s and get winter tires on your stock wheels. That's what I'm doing. But if those 18"s are the only set of wheels you have and you need to drive in the snow, then get Proxes4.

proxes t-1s is freakin grippy as hell! GET IT! haha
but since youre in philly.. you'll need to have all-seasons, unless you have a winter set spare on the side. its up to you. but T-1S is some crazy nice tires..

T1S are pricy for 18", you can try fuzion ZRi, they are bang for the buck
also Avon is a very good choice, you can get them at tire rack
i was expecting my T1-S would be great but turns out only at par with my winter set of sumitomos...

the Goodyear Eable F1 GS-D3 is a much better tire . id rate it on par with the Pilot Sport for traction better life and better wet traction

They don't have the T1R in the US ... still T1S.
Like the others have said ... depends on your application. I went with the Proxies4 just in case I might get caught in a freak storm with 18s still on the car. T1S are good tires ... lower treadwear life (220 VS 300). Don't know about the load rating for the T1S (Proxies4 are 95 load rating in 235/40/18) ...
Lots to think about!

Okay I am going to get the ts-1s. And of course I am not getting them cause they look cool. I got the Acura cause It looks cool. I do put my stocks on in the winter. So these are just summer tires.
Another question....... I want to just get two of these for the front tires because one of my tires right now has a slow leak in the side wall. Is this going to be a problem?
I do need 225/40zr/18s , Right? At least thats what are on my Rims now.
Thanks again for your help

Good choice to go with the T1-S. By far the best tires I've rolled on so far. My first set on the TL lasted close to 35k miles. Just changed them out for a fresh set.

185 isn't too bad.
I would never run different types of tires on my car. Due to the different water channeling capabilities, it could create a major difference in traction from front to back, especially when entering a corner at highway speeds.
Of course, I don't have to stress how stupid it is to run different tires from side to side; that's borderline suicidal.
