OEM Tire Replacements? Current Reccomendations
Almost time to replace my 2000 TL tires, any current recommendations for tires? I'd like to stay OEM size
(Yes, I did search and found a couple hits but were a bit dated)
Tire Rack reviews were some what informative but then reading the reviews you get a huge spectrum of comments...
Thanks!!

tire rack allows you to click on a TL icon and see only reviews for tires on our car
00 had 16 inch rims which limits your `performance` selection
Yokes and Nitto are good in general
How and where you drive is the decider on tire choice, wet, snow? ice!
or Ca winter with dry and heavy wet

Back in October I decided to try out the new Continental ExtremeContact DWS and have been nothing but extremely happy with them. Before these I went through a couple sets of Yoko Avid V4S and although they were very good in dry, pretty good in wet, snow was a challenge at times and the treadlife was never been as good as advertised, sometimes half of expected
If you are looking for an A/S tire, the conti has been awesome. I have tracked through 8+ inches in snow with minimal issue. I am a huge believer in snow tires, and so far for my car these tires are the best thing outside of having actual snow tires. After these tires start to get tread wear I will get snow tires but right now they are great!!! The only down side, which really isn't a down side, is that as with a lot of Conti's, the sidewall is a little soft, but it softened the ride up a bit, which makes my pregnant wife happy since I am lowered.

i'm riding on 205/60-16 Goodyear Eagle GT. They are ultra high performance all seasons and were a good replacement for the OEM tires. I feel that they have much more grip and are definitely better on wet pavement.

For All Season Tires:
Id been using the Yokohama YK520 (Since Bought stock OEM 215/50/R17) and they wont last you the "ad/warranty" 60K but they will last you more than 40K use they respond superb in any situation and the ride is supper comfortable (very luxurious), also they grip like hell!! in any speedy situation! Wet performance is pure Gold Never VSA´d
For Summer Tires:
My new set are some Yokohama S. Drive "Hyper Summer Performance" to fit my new (Enkei FD-05 also oversized 235/50/R17) they are for summer so dont expect anything good from them in snow. the wet performance is awesome my VSA has never come On with them in rainy situations never!!. just dont do a little off-road with them you will annihilate the trade. but the bitches handle anything ive throw them also the Z speed rating is a plus, BUT they dont last long enough maximum will be 25K mine were 21K but they are 20 bucks cheaper/each than the YK520 so dont sweat it!
P.D. Ive tried: "Hankook Ventus HRII", "Pirelli P6" , "Bridgestone Potenza RE760" and "Falken Ziex ZE912" all of them give me a horrible Turbo sound in the cabin anywhere going at 40mph+ so no go for me, i whant performance but not at the cost of Ride. "Yokohama YK520 & S. Drive" just give me both, Performance and Little-to-No Ride Noise (Got to Love Japanese)
