Nitrogen tire additive

A neighbor of mine, who owns a TL, told me by adding Nitrogen gas supplement, to the Bridgestone, EL42's, it prevents blowouts, & sidewall bubble bulges.
He claims it's $5/per tire, or free on Fridays, at Ganin Tire, in Brooklyn.
Has anyone heard of this?
Please let me know.
I've replaced several tires, for bubble problems, on the 3 Acuras, I've had.
Most were Michelins

to my knowledge, all nitrogen will do is hold a more true psi during cold/hot temps, from the tire warming up to the outside temp. racers use nitrogen. as far as preventing blowouts? but either fill it all up with nitrogen, or don't bother with anything else.
