Next suspension

Slowly working on the car.
now have headers, catback system, cold air intake
reasonable wheels and tires(may change soon)slotted rotors/ebc green pads
and had to rebuild the engine because it threw a rod/bearing. car is running well

So now
would like some suggestions/ Ideas on suspension changes. may be interested in dropping a little however would like to tighten up the handling etc.

??????
oh yeah some rough cost estimates would be nice

well, if you want to tighten suspension..

Cusco Front Strut Bar, Cusco Lower Brace... eibach F/R Sway bar

and then for suspension.. you want it tight.. so i'm guessing something stiff?

I went with KYB AGX (8-way adjustable shocks) with H&R springs; nice drop and if you set the shocks at the highest dampening... your riding on rails but not for daily use. Right now Im driving them on teh 2nd setting around town and max setting when I decide its time for a nightly cruise. But my set up cost somewhere around 900. Coils where a good idea but in chicago the salt and debris gets into the grooves and you cant adjust them so i decided to just go with the shocks

Cusco Front Strut Bar Part# 332-540-A.2

http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Cusco-Fro...-pr-53092.html

Cusco Front Lower Brace Part# 332-475-A.1

http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Cusco-Fro...-pr-53087.html

Eibach Front/Rear Sway bar Part# 4040.320

http://www.jegs.com/i/Eibach/369/4040.320/10002/-1

If spring shock combo is what you want.. I'd get Koni shocks with either H&R Sport Part# 50103? or Eibach Pro-Kit springs.

If going coilovers, i'd go Function Form, Megan, D2, JICs. somewhere along those lines of full coilovers.. not the usual tein basic type...

or get Koni shocks with Ground Control coilover sleeve with custom spring rates..

that'd get you pretty stiff.

ok how stiff is the ride?/
my wife and daughter keep complaining the car is floating(i think bs) however as the driver it is hard to understand. they both feel car sick even in the front. so I am trying to get a good suspension and try to keep them happy the 4-5 times we take a long ride in the car. I want handling yet not having the feel like I am driving something without shocks. I do have the original strut support plus another.

Thanks Tegkid,fsttyms1
your 100% right and Sorry jjashaa I'm not really good at this
Since I am not sure what works let me try this
1. budget willing to go up to a if I have to grand maybe lil more to have them installed
2. As I said early on I have been slowly working on the car it is running great now so I thought a good next step would be to address the suspension
3. I have no idea as to what I would want I was hoping to get some ideas from folks on this thread and hear the pros and cons and go from there. I have not done any major work on cars in a long time and so much has changed so I am not sure if coil overs, springs, sway bars etc are the way to go. I read alot of the current magazines however seldom see things involving 3.2 tls so I really am not sure where to start.
hope this helps get things started.

and thanks to all for your input so far.

From what I've read, my suggestion for you would be Tein SS coilovers. They have adjustable dampening and therefore give you adjustability to tune the suspension to your liking. Plus, they aren't as hard as K-Sport coilovers.

This may be a weird question however how are the adjusted manually each time you want to make a change or electronically from inside the car. Don't understand the process

They can be done either way. I believe the adjustment knobs are located at the top of the strut. If this is the case, the front struts are easy to adjust because the top of the strut is accessible under the hood. The rears, however, are covered by the rear deck, so what many people have done is to drive around a few days with the back seat out to test the suspension and adjust it to your liking. When you are satisfied with adjustment, you put the seat back.

Tein also makes an EDFC module that allows you to adjust electronically from inside the car. But that of course is an added cost.

i honestly suggest you just take some time and go through the sub forum you are currently in. coilovers vs shocks/springs have been debated to death here and many of the threads that have already run their course will give you the type of knowledge you need.

if you have any more questions that are more particular to your case; then feel free to post your question here.

we're not going to sit down and tell you EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING.

Ok thanks this is a start. Sorry to bring up a overworked subject however that is what happens with a newbe to the thread. I like the rear sway bar idea which may help and the tein efdc module.

Ok I may open up my self for a world of hurt suggestions on what next.

the tein EDFC only works with the Tein Super Street coilovers which is over the price you want to pay for...

find out if you want coilovers or spring/shock combo

He said his budget is around $1,000, and Tein SS is a little bit more than that. But Tein SS + EDFC is closer to $1,500 I think (I think I read that the EDFC just went up in price).

Or, if you can deal with the manual adjustment and you want to save a little money, you can get adjustable struts (KYB AGX, Tokico Illumina or Koni Yellow) and lowering springs.

ok if I go the full route say with the teins@$1500 including the lowering springs. plus a rear sway bar the next question becomes do I need to roll the rear fenders to deal with a set of
TENZO TYPE-M VERSION 1 BLACK, RED STRIPE with 18X8 inch tires?
