New Tires

I am about to purchase new tires for my 2003 TL. I have just the stock TL wheels. Any suggestions on a more low profile tire than the stock set? Keep in mind that I live in the Northeast and drive the car all year.

If your roads sux . . . I would stick with stock. I run 225/45 on my TLS and haven't had any problems but the roads are decent in NC.

Obviously, going wider is going to hurt your snow traction . . . even if you buy a decent all-season tire like Avon Tech 550AS or Pirelli PZero Nero M+S.

YES. The first owner had Fuzion?? maybe. I've had Avon Tech, Pirelli, and now Kumhos on the car without any problems. Per Tire Rack, I think ContiExtreme may be the only 225/45 recommended for stock rims. My car is lowered so much it required camber kits, so the width isn't a problem there, either.

I'm running Fuzion tires on my car right now with no problems. Pretty decent tires and they grip really well. It's time for new tires for me also and I'm thinking of going with the Yoko's V4S.

If you live in the northeast and drive the car all year round, I would just stick with the factory recommended tire size.

If the tire is good 225 will do just fine. Also having a set of snow tires is much better and allows you to get a better tire for summer!
