Need tire size help for wider 17" wheels
Not sure if I want to stick with a 50 series tire or drop down to a 45 for a 2002 TLS.
Stock 17x6.5
tire 215/50/17 25.5" Overall diameter for reference.
New tire option will be going on
17x7.5 +55 front
17x8.5 +65 rear
Sizes I'm looking at
225/50/17. 25.9" o.d. All four
Or some combination below
225/50/17. 25.9" o.d. Front
235/45/17. 25.3" o.d. front
235/45/17. 25.3" o.d. Rear
245/45/17. 25.7" o.d. Rear
Leaning toward the 45's but not sure how 235 width would look on the 7.5 front and clearance issues. Trying to keep the overall diameter close to stock. wheels are off an s2000 (ap2 v.1).
Am I better off getting staggered sizes or one size for all?
Kinda leaning toward just upsizing the side wall sizing from what comes stock on the s2000...
215/50/17 front
245/45/17 rear
Sound like a good idea?

Guess I'll just simplify my question.
Anybody think 245's in the rear will cause problems? Should I just stick to 235's. A browsed through the wheel spec threads and everyone seems to be sticking with 235's and under. Need to order by end of week. Thank you.

Not sure with that offset you will be able to squeeze a 245 on it??. I currently run a 255 on my 18x8+55, all i had to do was roll the rear fenders.
Also not a fan of staggered, especially on FWD. I would pick one size for all 4 and stick with it (like a 235)

Yea that's what I was leaning towards. 235/45's all around then, thank you. If I can get the 17x8.5's to work up front I'll probably get another pair of rear s2000 wheels and run 17x8.5's all around.

Just to update fitting s2000 wheels on 2003 tl with one finger wheel gap on all four. (ap2 v.1)
Wheels fit fine. Front are pretty sunk so spacers would be needed to look good. Rear could maybe even use 15-20mm to really flush em with the fender.
Rear s2000 wheels will not work up front without 20-25mm spacers to clear inside suspension.
Note: measurements are not exact, just an estimate from 'eyeballing' it.
