michelin tires chunking - dealership blames me
bought and installed Michelin mxv4 primacy tires at my acura dealership to replace my aging oem michelins which still had tread left and looked brand new. thought getting the primacy mxv4 would give me another 7-8 years of tread. unfortunately i recently noticed the outer treads (edge) on three of the tires are chunking (see attachments). i have always kept tire pressure between 32-34 psi. never driven too hard and always had them rotated and balance. these tires were on for less than a year anyway. why is this happening? is there warranty for this? my dealership refuses to get them replaced or to do anything at all. they blamed alignment but they found the car to be perfectly aligned. they checked suspension and everything else. finally they blamed me saying i probably drove through a railed carwash?! i have gone through the same car wash for past 10 years so why the damage now? and why is 1 tire almost perfect? they also blamed my younger brother for doing donuts with this car, i have NO brother and don't know how to do donuts anyway. i have attached pics sorry for poor quality but you can clearly see the outer treads have been grazed off.

Dealer tires and rust-proofing will come with a million promises of warranty. When you try to claim on any of their promises they almost always deny your claim. That's how this business works.

Im sorry but i would side with the dealer too. That type of wear usually comes from very aggressive driving/cornering, sliding etc.. With alignment and suspension ruled out driver is the last thing. My tires usually look like that after a lapping day.

Tire chunking is very common on full-tread-depth tires that have been driven/raced hard on tracks and off-roads.
That's why shaved tires are used instead to prevent the tires from unnecessary chunking.

Asked for an appetizer and just received the ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET! Lol...
Agreed with those above. I once bought a brand new set of GoodYear tires for my 79 Camaro and (like an idiot) three days later I was doing donuts in a church parking lot. It wasn't till I got to work the next morning that there were chunks taken out of my tires just like yours! :-)

i dont know this car is usually driven by a nervous female and 90% of its life garaged. are these tires safe? i just wanna know if i need to get the replaced. they have full tread. the inner side of tread is not damaged and one of thr tires is in perfect condition. the front left seems to be getting worst
