Is Mavis Bs'ing me?

Hey guys, about 3 years and 10 months ago and less than 15,000 miles I purchased a set of Yokohama Avid V4s tires from Mavis, over the past year I've noticed the walls of the tires are starting to crack and just recently visited my mechanic and he says the tires are getting really bad, just spoke to Mavis and they told me that using Armor-all will cause this to happen quickly (something I've never heard before) is this true? Do you think this is too soon for this to be happening to my tires? Should I fight for replacement tires or a credit towards new ones? Thanks guys!

If you are talking about tire shine, then yes it can happen. I think I have heard that if you do start using it, you have to keep using it otherwise it will begin to crack.

My old tires were cracked all around the tire for quite some time before getting them replaced. Had no problems at all. But then again, better safe then sorry.

you have to be careful with mavis all the managers work for commission...if u have warranty on a tire they will fix it (even if unsafe) rather than replace it....but if u dont have warranty they make u buy a tire and tell u its unsafe to fix
