Lowered...but looks wrong??

Okay guys/gals, I lowered the car finally with B&G suspension kit. Struts and springs installed. Front was supposed to be 1.75 and rear 1.6...but the rear is tucked and it just looks abnormal...I looked at other ppl who have lowered on B&G and theirs dont look like mine.

The rear is dropped way more then 1.6in...I measured from the center of the rims to the fender.

Front: 14.6in and rear is 12.8in.

Could it be that the mechanics put the the front springs in the rear and rear ones in the front??

B&G stuff:

Before Lowering:

After Lowering:

Rear:

So does it look weird to you guys too, or is this normal?

Thanks.

weird..

lift your car up.. see if the springs are seated correctly on the spring perches on the shocks..

if they look off.. turn it.. if it doesn't seat in correctly... its not installed right. as in front is in rear and etc... but that wouldn't make sense cuz its a noticeable mistake even before installing.

doesnt look normal. its may possibly be the springs. or maybe B&G gave you the wrong set of springs.

The springs are two different sizes so it's definitely not that.... Just double check to see if it's sitting right on the shocks

Both sides look the same, no noise when driving it....

Would I still have been able to drive the car if they were not sitting properly? I will be taking it back to mechanic in morning, he said he will check everything over again.

I messaged Excelerate, to see if he knows what the problem is. Hopefully will hear from him soon.

Thanks everyone for the input, hopefully it can be fixed easily.

Is it possible that the struts are adjustable from B & G? And maybe the rears are set lower? Not sure, but I know other brand struts allow you to change the height setting.

Hmmm...other than that...def. check if the spring is sitting correctly...and make sure the guy transferred ALL parts of the tophat that he should have (i.e. there's a washer under the OEM dust boot that holds most of the weight of the car, at least in a 3G.) I had to reinstall my TEIN 3 times before I got it right.

Good luck!

maximas and altimas are notorious for looking like that.

first thing I would have done was installed it myself. you can try jacking it up and seeing if the springs is snugged on the bottom. GL

if they forgot the washer, as someone mentioned, then it prbly would have lowered down that far. but i think it would have popped the strut up behind the seats.

i would think they either seated them wrong, which is kinda hard to do if youre paying attention when installing, or the struts have something wrong with them

When they installed the springs, they put the bigger ones in the back and the smaller ones in the front. Is that correct? I'm heading to garage now, so will get them to check the washer and stuff as well.

the more compacted springs goes in the front..

front = more compact and more coils together..

rear spring = less coils and further apart

I've attempted to contacted B&G regarding this but still waiting on their email. Sent them pics of the car as well. I will be going to another garage this saturday, that has more experience with lowering cars. Hopefully he can figure out what's wrong...otherwise I will have to go back to stock for now.

i think his rear struts are blown... if you look at the "before" pics.. hes sittin on top of his tire already before the drop.

i think the drop springs just allowed the car to fall further than before.
but im calling struts on this one.

seems like the back blew out and the front held.

Yup new struts and springs...unless it's defective or install is improper. Just gotta wait till Saturday.

Don't worry, I will be repainting the entire car and fixing all the rust spots eventually! One step at a time.

I had my car lowered this morning on H&R springs and it doesn't look like that. I'm happy with how mine looks. Mine are 1.75 front and 1.5 rear, ill take some pics when i get home from work but I definitely think they messed something up on yours. any good shop will guarantee their work.

That's why I'm getting another shop to check the install out. If they find anything, I will try to get my money back from the first shop...

Hopefully the springs aren't defective...It gonna be a pain to have to send them back and get a refund/exchange. Still no word from B&G.....
