Ksports Custom Spring Rates

I have an 03 TL-S and I'm currently on Eibach Pro-Kits and blown shocks, so my ride has turned to crap. I just bought some 19's, so I know its not going to get any better so I'm looking for a new suspension setup. I was initially considering Koni Yellows, but for the prices I'm seeing, I figured I may as well save up another 100 bucks or so and get Ksports. I know a lot of reviews have said that they are stiff, with the 13/7 spring rates, and I definitely want to keep the feel of the Eibachs which is sporty but not stiff and bouncy. I called up a shop in Arizona and they can get the Ksports for 780 and I can do custom spring rates for no extra charge. I believe the Teins are 7/4. Is that correct? Is it just the rear spring rate that I should really be concerned with? Am I thinking about this the right way? Just want to make sure.

Here's the spec on Tein's. Not familiar with your spring rate notation (noob), so maybe this isn't what you're looking for.

What does a "spring rate" of 7/4 mean? 7 of what and 4 of what?

Basic physics, spring rate is the amount of weight needed to compress the spring. This is usually measured in grams/mm (metric) or lbs/in (US). In the case of these car springs, the 7 and 4 are measurements of the spring rate in kg/mm, so a spring rate of 7 kg/mm means it takes 7 kg of weight on the spring to make it compress one mm.

OK. Go that, thanks.
7kg compresses the spring 1 mm.

But, what's the 4?

Is 7 the front spring rate and 4 the rear?

i had the 7/4 teins, then the 13/7 k-sports; gotta tell you, 13/7 is VERY aggresive; but really fun in the corners =p.

literally no body travel and no rubbing when i had a less than half finger gap from tire to fender lol

Dont even worry about spring rates. You can achieve a better more controllable ride with better adjustable shocks, and just stick with what the manufacturer has made the spring as. H&R wont tell you because most people dont know how to comprehend the #s properly.
