I'm An Idiot. Direction Question About Rotoras
so i've had an annoying sound from my front right like the rotor is warped. they're rotoras and i just put them on last july-ish.
so i figured i would just save up for the BBK and then yesterday i was looking at them and realized they're both the same direction of rotor. as in, they're both either right hand directional or left hand directional.
which way should the slots go? angled up and forward, right? i don't have the installation sheets anymore. so if it's forward then they're both left-handed rotors and my right one is warped from improper installation. i don't know how i didn't realize this back in the summer. i must have just taken the first one out and figured since it was left hand that the other *had* to be the right hand and never actually looked at it.

I read on the brembo website that the rotors should be mounted so that when the rotors turn, the end of the slot at the edge of the rotor should contact the pad first.
Having said that, the site mentioned that true directional rotors refer to the vanes inside the rotors. Ours, like about 99% of the rotors out there, are non-directional whether they're plain, slotted, drilled or any other combination so it really doesn't matter which way you mount them anyway.
Our cars don't have the braking performance of say a Porsche for us to notice the difference. For our application, slotted and/or drilled rotors are for looks.
I like the look of my drilled and slotted Rotoras

It really depends on the manufacturer. Some design the slots to face backward, while others design them to face forward. However, like TLMugen mentioned, the REAL meaning of a directional rotor depends on the direction of the vanes. They have to face forward to suck in the air and vent it out through the center, cooling the rotor in the process. But some are not directional.
I'm not sure if the Rotora front slotted rotors have directional vanes or not, though.![Dunno](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
Still, you should call Rotora and ask them what they can do for ya. They claim that they can only warranty brakes for up to 500 miles due to their nature and use, but this is obviously an exception to that. Their incorrect packaging is what caused the problem, not questionable (mis)use of the product.

Pure Adrenaline - i'm not gonna try and return them since it's been about 10k miles anyway, i just feel stupid for not looking in the first place.
TLMugen - i would have to respectfully disagree with you. although i don't have physical numbers to back it up, i think the proof is out there that the rotora/hawk combo will stop quicker than OEM pad and rotor. now i know you were just talking about rotors and not pad/rotor combos, but the gas venting on slotted rotors is a true performance gain. back in 99 i was cutting slots in my own pads with a hacksaw before they started coming pre-cut.
i mean yeah of course they look good but there is definitely some gain to be had, although i completely agree that you're not going to make a TL stop like a porsche.
