I need new tires

I have an 02 TL with 225/40/18 Nankangs on it and looking to replace them. My budget is around $550, so what kind of performance tires would you guys recommend?

I like my General Exclaim UHP. wet or dry- awesome for a great price, rated #1 on tirerack.com as a summer performance tire- but rated M&S on tire itself because of unique tread design. Works fine in light snow but I wouldnt run them in deeeeep snow~
check www.tirerack.com for suggestions and reviews by TL owners on different brands

Man, the damn site was in maintenance, so I went with the Yokohama AVID W4S XL for $126 a piece at tirerack. I'll see how they'll run. I'm a college student, so $540 for tires took long time and research. I live in Philadelphia, so I went with tires that were rated fairly high (tirerack) on wet, dry, and noise levels.

I called Goodyear earlier this week and the dude almost convinced me to buy a set of Fierce tires. However, I couldn't find any decent reviews, so I went with the Yokohamas. Thanks all!

I've heard good things about those tires. Let me know how they work out. I really want to know if your mileage improves.

Currently I have a set of cheap Kuhmos that I can't stand. The ride is really rough.
