Hit a pothole... shouldn't the tires be destroyed???
Well, I was planning to take the TL in for rebalancing today... so yesterday, my dad hits a massive pothole, and of course doesn't tell me.
When in the shop, the guy says "your rim is bent", and when I look, it is quite bad. He's like, "thats what was making your wheel vibrate!", but the wierd thing is that they were vibrating ever since the new tires were put on.
The tires only have about 1000 miles on them, they are Falken Ziex ZE512s. It surprises me that they did not pop or blister when the wheel got bent.
Should they be OK to drive 700 miles on in a few days?

if you're tires are not bubbled/blistered then don't worry about them unless you find there is a slow air leak. i'm assuming the shop balanced the rim for you before you went home (they should have). i wouldn't worry about driving on it too much otherwise. just run the tires down and rotate as normal and you should be fine.
some tires can take a beating. i hit a massive pothole in february and blew my tire right off the rim, but oddly enough the rim was fine. no damage at all. so some of it is luck, some of it is the tire.
