help with wheel fitment

Would it be possible to fit a 20 x 7.5 with a +42 offset on a 02 TL? I want to make sure before I buy a set. I have seen a couple of cars on car domain with 20's and they look like they stick out too far, but i think that they probably 20 x 8.5's. If anyone has any pictures of a TL's on 20's please post it. Thanks for any help.

For a 7.5" wheel the offset needs to be a minimum of +45, +48 is better. +42 is gonna rub and with 20s you're begging for trouble.

Keep in mind you're going to be running on rubber bands for tires since you have to make sure the overall diameter of the wheel/tire combo matches the OEM size.

Won't 20s make the car look like a truck?

To my knowledge, I believe the smallest 20" tire that is currently available are 225/35-20. These tires to begin with will increase the rolling diameter by 5/8". The problem with 20's is that there's no tire size that will match the stock rolling diameter.

The speedometer and odometer will be way off. And if you have VSA and TCS it will mess it up.

Stick with 19s and the world will be a happier place.

thanks for the info. If I were to get 19's what is the best size? 19 x7.5, 19 x 8, or 19 x 8.5. I am looking at a 19 x7.5 but I dont know the offset. What is the ideal size and offset for 19's.

you can definately run 19X7.5

I'm running 19X8 with 50 offset, and it only rubs when i drop my coilovers very low (slightly less than 1 finger gap) and people in the back.
